Ladbrokes Park Hillside will host an eight-race program on Wednesday as the midweek fixtures start to gain even more quality in the months ahead. The track should remain a Good4 and the first race will get underway at 1pm. Check out Brendan Bunworth’s best racing tips for Wednesday’s Sandown program below!
Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 6th 2023
Race 2: Ladbrokes Racing Club Handicap - 1:35pm (AEST)
(2) Austmarr for Anthony & Sam Freedman gets the nod here with Jordan Childs on board who is 1 from 1 on this filly. She led all of the way at Cranbourne last start and from barrier 4 there is a big chance she can repeat that performance. She beat Buffalo River in a jumpout recently which reads well for this. Austmarr has run 2 seconds at this track and looks to handle it well.
(3) Goldie is another who will press for the lead early and will look to match it with the favourite late. She is quick but see this track for the first time. Good odds.
(5) Tabata Set hasn’t placed in her career yet but won a Cranbourne trial in impressive fashion 3 weeks ago and has been freshened since.
(1) Chilled was 2nd behind Benedetta in a trial recently and from barrier 1 will get a lot of support. I’ll wait and see on this one.
(2) Austmarr - Win
$1.75 (4 Units)
Race 5: Ladbrokes Oddsurge Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(2) Eternal Flame for Mick Kent and Ethan Brown has the ability to run on well late and she is very fit now after numerous jumpouts and races this prep. She has won over this distance before and a Dry track also suits. She hasn’t been here before but you would think a spacious circuit will be ideal for her running style.
(3) Fiasco Tess is on the quick back up after a 2nd at Hillside last Wednesday and she should be fitter again. Before that she was only beaten a head when 3rd at Ballarat on the Synthetic and another Dry track will suit.
(8) Jennipending will likely get back and be running on. Has 2.5kg on Eternal Flame which will help.
(7) Crazy In Love seems to like Wet tracks better but is another who will be running on from the back.
(2) Eternal Flame - Win
$2.80 (2 Units)
Race 6: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(15) Zapouring drops in grade for this event and Willow stays on. He has drawn wide in 15 but did win when 2nd up last prep. He was fair when 8th at The Valley on resumption but that race was a lot harder than this and I get the feeling Team Corstens want an easier race before targeting some Saturday races in the Spring.
(13) Speak Now will push towards the lead early and should take improvement again after winning 2 weeks ago when at good odds.
(10) Boldhino I have backed a few times but have never won on him. He stormed home to just miss (2nd) when we have him as one of our better bets 3 weeks ago. Kah is on this time which is a positive.
(1) Bel Air is resuming and will be better in a few weeks. Has trialed well though.
(15) Zapouring - Win
$5.50 (2 Units)
Race 8: LockedED.au Handicap - 5:05pm (AEST)
*SCRATCHED* (14) Get Up Girl for Clinton McDonald has drawn inside which could be a disadvantage really considering that she is a get back type but with luck she will be running on again. Kah is on and her 2nd up form is very good having won on both occasions. She has placed in a much harder race than this and has won over this distance. Does need luck though.
(11) Port Albert has barrier 14 but does get back anyway. He enjoys this distance but probably needs it wetter.
(4) Fire has trialed well and went good last prep when fresh. He has won twice for McNeil before and he has won twice over this distance.
(1) Viviane won in Saturday grade last start but does have to carry 61kg in this. She will probably lead but can she keep going after winning her last three races?
