Sandown Racing Tips - Wednesday, September 13th 2023

Race 2 Ladbrokes Mates Mode Plate - 1pm (AEST)

(9) Prinzerro has drawn wide for Jamie Kah but the Philip Stokes trained colt was very good in Saturday grade when 2nd last time at The Valley. Kah was on that day too and has elected to stick with him here. He has placed at this track before and will settle handy but hopefully he doesn’t get trapped too wide from the poor draw.

(13) Zondee has placed on the Good before and was 3rd behind a smart type last start (Autumn Angel).

(16) Sanzeno is big odds but is in an in-form stable and will improve with more racing.

(12) Verdad is a first starter and battled on well for 2nd at his most recent jumpout.

(9) Prinzerro

$3.20 (2 units)

Race 3 Fierce Impact - Pedigree Physique Performance - 1:35pm (AEST)

(7) The Marg Factor has drawn well in 3 and she has been in the placings the last 3 starts and should be in the top few again here. She should be able to get to the rails here unlike she did last start where she was a little wide and she does see this track for the second time which will help. Damien Lane is on again after placing on here previously.

(4) Smokin’ Princess should enjoy a firm track like she did when scoring on the synthetic. She has also drawn well in 2 and will sit on pace.

(3) Moya Lass has placed first up before but has drawn a little wide in 11. Ollie is on after the mare was good in  trial behind Without a Fight 2 weeks ago.

(2) Toropeak is a last start winner (Geelong) and she has won 3 races on the Good.

(7) The Marg Factor

$7.50 (1 unit)

Race 4 Quayclean Handicap - 2:10pm (AEST)

(3) Helix should improve with more going here after a 4th at The Valley last start behind a smart one in Perille. Ben Melham is on and he will have to get Helix across from barrier 10 into a midfield position. He has never missed a placing on a Good surface.

(2) Graysong come from near last to win on the synthetic at Pakenham last time and should appreciate Dry ground again.

(1) Awapuni Princess can place at good odds here. She probably wants it wetter but she likes this distance.

(9) Rich Lover led all of the way at Pakenham last start and will likely try for the lead in this. First try over the distance.

(3) Helix

$5.00 (2 units)

Race 5 The Big Screen Company Handicap - 2:45pm (AEST)

(8) Tarzi Calling gets its last chance here for me (not that he cares) after again running a solid 4th here 2 weeks ago. He didnt get much luck on that occasion after settling well back but did run on quite well when beaten 1L. Ollie sticks with him and he still has to carry 60kg but at the nice odds he is worth another go.

(7) Farhh Flung may need the run being first up but is normally a very consistent horse. The in-form Blake Shinn hops on.

(6) Speak Now will likely roll forward and is fitter now. Jordan Childs is on for the first time and he is 1 from 1 third up.

(5) Let’s Sea likes dry ground and is one at odds here. Barrier 1 may enable him to get a cushy run on the fence. Hefel gets the 1.5kg claim which will assist.

(8) Tarzi Calling

$10.00/$2.75 (1 unit E/W)
