Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday November 29th

November 28th 2023, 1:31pm, By: Brendan Bunworth

Sandown Racing Tips

Ladbrokes Park’s Lakeside venue will host midweek racing this week with the first of eight races getting underway at 1pm.

It's a tricky meeting to preview with 20mls of rain expected to fall on the region in the next 24 hours. We have a Soft 5 track to study at the moment but there is a high chance of a downgrade.

Brendan Bunworth brings us his best bets for Sandown this Wednesday below!

Sandown Racing Tips - Wednesday November 29th 2023

Race 3: Ladbrokes Oddsurge Handicap - 2:10pm (AEDT)

*SCRATCHED* (1) Soar Beyond ran on well at Kyneton last start when winning after starting 2nd fav. Before that he was a beaten fav (2nd) on the Soft so he can handle the cut out of the ground too. Kersley stays on top after winning on him last time.

(2) Ll Cubo led and saluted after a good front running ride from Newitt on that occasion. He had barrier 1 though which helped that day. The favourite and the one to beat.

(3) Magic Mogul led and got tired late at Seymour over 1300m last time. Will go forward and will want the race run slowly so Soar Beyond doesn’t run over the top of them.

(4) Nation State has drawn inside and should get the gun run behind the leader. Has placed on the Soft and has Lane on which is a plus.

(1) Soar Beyond

SCR

Race 5: Evergreen Turf Handicap - 3:20pm (AEDT)

(1) Tommy comes back to midweek class after finding it hard at Flemington last start when 11th. Before that he sat 2nd in the run at Ballarat and was too good. Has the inside and should definitely run top 3. Has won 2 races on the Soft so will be happy with current track conditions.

(4) My Brother’s Keeper we tipped last time on this site and he was poor when 8th at The Valley. He too drops in grade though and should be very competitive.

(5) Speranzoso won well last start but hasn’t done well on Soft tracks yet which is a concern,

(6) Think I’m Famous should run well over this distance but I don’t like his chances if it rains on raceday.

(1) Tommy

$2.80 (2 units)

Race 6: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 3:55pm (AEDT)

(9) Vonk likes wet tracks and may lead this field for McNeil who stays on after basically leading all of the way on him last time. He is very consistent and should get a nice run in transit from barrier 4. Drops 1.5kg in weight but goes up in class.

(2) War Frontier gets Lane on again and he has won on this horse previously. He had no luck at Pakenham last start when having barrier 11.

(3) Pride of Galway should get a cozy run from barrier 1 and has won 3 races on Soft tracks.

(4) Simeon always tries hard and is getting to peak fitness. Goes okay on the Soft despite having never won on the surface in 5 attempts.

(9) Vonk

$3.40 (2 units)

Race 8: Ladbrokes Racing Club Handicap - 5:05pm (AEDT)

(4) Toronto Terrier gets McNeil on again after running 2nd for him last start at Kyneton after settling nicely in 3rd. He is fitter now being third up and this race is easier than last time. Barrier 10 is a slight concern but McNeil will try and get to 4th on the outside in the run I think.

(2) Quang Tri drops back in distance and will likely lead this field. If he goes slowly out in front he should place.

(8) Harbin has drawn poorly in 13 but has placed 4 times from 5 starts on the Soft.

(9) El Soleado ran on well for 2nd last time and Willow sticks with him. Is knocking on the door but has only been in the money once from 4 attempts on the Soft.

(4) Toronto Terrier

$3.80 (2 units)
