Ladbrokes Park (Hillside) hosts midweek racing in Victoria this week with eight competitive races on the program.
With twilight racing winding up for the season, it's an earlier start with race one on the program getting underway at 2:30pm.
There is 5mls of rain predicted during the morning but gallopers still should be running on a Good 4 surface.

Sandown Racing Tips – Wednesday, March 22nd 2023
Race 1
(4) Simeon is a gelding out of Pierro/Mary Lou and at Pakenham on debut he made up ground gradually to run 2nd and should be better again after his first outing in race conditions. Before that he won a jumpout at Cranbourne so he does know how to cross the line first. Daniel Moor takes the ride as he did on debut.
(3) Villeneuve has been unplaced in both runs on Good tracks but he didn't get much luck last start when 8th. Damien Oliver is on.
(6) Stavanger will settle in the top 4 and should be a safe place bet. She has placed 4 from 10 starts including 4 3rds on end.
(9) Umetini was unlucky at Warrnambool when 5th after starting favourite. Is fit enough and is in the right stable.
(4) Simeon - WIN
$2.20 (3 Units)
Race 2
(2) Noonday Gun has drawn awkwardly in 11 but if he can get across and settle in the top 4 like he did last start, he will be very hard to beat because he loves the distance. He is equally good on firm tracks or slightly wet tracks so the 5mls on Wednesday morning shouldn't worry him too much. It's his 4th run since his spell so he is fitter than a few of these.
(1) Prinze Ziggy is a horse who is equally as fit and is a last start winner for Jamie Edwards. He loves Good tracks and is in this up to his ears having been in the money 35 times of 76 career starts.
(4) Stern Idol is fresh but did run well in a recent jumpout at Cranbourne. Before that he was a couple of lengths behind his stablemate, Noonday Gun, in a Cranbourne jumpout.
(5) Heir to the Throne faces a tougher assignment here after being beaten by a nose at Kyneton.
(2) Noonday Gun - WIN
$5.50 (2 Units)
Race 4
(4) Luna Cat got trapped wide at The Valley last start so I would forget that run. Michael Dee sticks with her and he has placed on her twice from 5 attempts. Her Good track form is solid and she should settle in a nice position. She hasn’t won in a long time but she is having her fourth run from a spell so she should be ready now.
(7) Circle of Magic is in very good form having been beaten a head in her last 2 starts. She loves the Good tracks and is 100 percent fit.
(8) Moss Job has drawn inside which will help because she may push for the lead.
(9) Wango Award rises in distance after running a good 6th at Flemington last start. Should be kept in single digits.
(4) Luna Cat - WIN
$3.60 (2 Units)
Race 8
(12) Eagles Crag for the Archie Alexander stable will have a lot of admirers after a good 4th behind Here to Shock and Munhamek in Saturday class last time. He was only beaten a length and made up many lengths late. Likes Good tacks and may start favourite.
(16) Unusual Culture is in very consistent form and has won 2 from 5 starts on Good ground. She has placed twice before in Listed races and has won here previously. Has been in the money 7 of 10 starts and may challenge for favouritism.
(14) Sandy Prince will be up on speed and is fit. Is a blow out chance if they crawl up front. Drawing barrier 2 may assist.
(13) Field of Roses has been disappointing of late but has run well here before and does like the distance.
(12) Eagles Crag - WIN
$4.20 (2 Units)
