Ladbrokes Park (Lakeside) circuit will host an eight-race card on Wednesday with the first of eight getting underway at 12:25pm. With the cold wintry conditions settling in, punters will have to start to focus on horses who don't mind the wet tracks. With that said, it’s a pretty tough program to study, and the track is currently rated a Soft7.

Sandown Racing Tips – Wednesday, June 28th 2023
Race 3: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 1:35pm (AEST)
(9) Dane on Tour gets the services of Blake Shinn for this one and that is an added bonus. He replaces Jamie Mott who had no luck when this mare was 10th on the Hillside circuit last start. She draws better here (1) and should get a nice run in transit. She is more than capable on wet tracks and any rain on Tuesday night would be a bonus. It's her 2nd look at Lakeside and she should improve after running 2nd here previously.
(13) Delicious Tycoon has drawn wide in 16 and is a mare I tipped last start when 5th. She was probably ridden a bit too close on that occasion and may have to go back from this barrier.
(1) Arktika is another I tipped and backed last start in Saturday grade (4th) and she has also drawn poorly in 17. A better draw here and she would be my on topper.
(4) Gamegirl has drawn well in 2 and has good form leading into this. She has had 2 close wins over the last 6 weeks after settling on speed. Can settle handy again.
(9) Dane on Tour - Win
$11 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Senets Gambling Law Experts Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(7) The Guava was beaten a nose when fav at Swan Hill last start and will go well again here. He settled on speed last start but is versatile and can go back, and may have to from barrier 12. He was beaten a nose at Hillside on May 10 and that was on the Heavy. Will appreciate rain on the day if there is any around.
(12) Von Hauke won well at Mornington, but did have a better barrier that day (2). He gets 13 here and will need a good ride to win.
(15) Southern Chilli has just been fair his last couple but has drawn better here (2).
(3) He’ll Rip won well when drawing the inside at Mornington last start and has drawn well again in this race (3).
(7) The Guava - Win
$12 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Stow Storage Solutions Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)
(7) Sig Positano is a horse I said I would never back again but this is an easier race for him this time. His form on the Soft is pretty solid and he has run on quite well his last couple for 3rd placings. Laura Lafferty is on for the first time and she will likely go back from barrier 1, so the key is not getting trapped by other horses. Sig Positano hasn't won a race in more than a year but he does like this distance.
(8) Ten Commandments is going for 5 on end but has drawn poorly in 17. He likes to settle up there so he may use too much petrol early.
(10) The Hass has better form on dry tracks so will want to see how he goes in this one before backing him for a win.
(1) Polanco I have backed numerous times and he is always there abouts. Does carry a big weight in this though.
(7) Sig Positano - Win
$8 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Thoroughbred Club Australia Handicap - 4:30pm (AEST)
(10) Arnold is first up and he has won first up previously. He has won 2 from 4 starts on the Soft and despite having poor form prior to his spell, he has won twice over this distance from 4 attempts. He has trialed up pretty well and was racing in harder races than this at Sydney during the summer.
(6) Our Lone Star wasn’t beaten too far when 5th at Geelong last start and more improvement is expected here at juicy odds. He has won 3 from 9 starts on the Soft and has won over this track & distance.
(5) Heywood has to carry 58.5kg this time after the claim for Cartwright. He does like the sting out of the ground and will be in the mix at the end. 1 from 1 over this distance.
(3) Ocean’s Jen is gaining fitness and there might be a race for her in a few weeks. Might just need one more. Will run at over 20-1 which is probably over the odds.
(10) Arnold - WIN
$6.50 (1 Unit)
