A twilight meeting at Sandown will head up the midweek racing coverage in Victoria with an eight-race program. The first will be kicking off at 3:40pm (AEDT) before the last event on the card wraps up at 7:30pm. The track is tipped to be playing on a Good 4 with that reading expected to stay strong throughout the day and into the night.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday January 31st 2024
Race 3: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Hcp (4:50 AEDT)
(5) Hey Fat Cat returned in great order to bolt in last start at Sale, hoping for some more progressive improvement here but this looks no different on paper and is a definite winning chance at a healthy price.
(2) Immortality ran in the minor money at Pakenham in its first go around there this campaign, with Damian Lane sticking on board plus the aid of an inside stall the stable pairing of Price and Kent Jr have a reason to be quietly confident.
(1) Gundaroo has strong form lines out of a race two back at Flemington where the 5yo Gelding beat home a promising type in Acid Wash, will have fans based off that effort so keep an eye on a market push prior to jump.
(5) Hey Fat Cat
$3.50 (1 Unit)
Race 5: Senet Gambling Law Experts (6:00pm AEDT)
*SCRATCHED* (3) Unthinkable ticks a lot of boxes heading into this affair over the 1600m. Second up form coupled with the rise in trip both point towards a forward showing to give the Mitchell Freedman camp something to cheer.
(4) Charisse has been mixing his form of late but can bounce back here following a luckless run last start at Cranbourne, before an improved effort at Sale saw the Mare fight to the line under jockey Daniel Stackhouse who earns the steer again.
(1) Bavarian Lady finds itself back on a more recognisable track over the mile which is its preferred distance range. Apprentice Jaylah Kennedy also receives a 3kg claim that’ll no doubt be beneficial to her finishing position.
Race 7: Lockettled.Au (7:00pm AEDT)
(9) Vilnius has shown to be a progressive type and if it can take the necessary step forward here it’ll give us a good run for our money. Maps to do no work in finding the front, which means there’ll be petrol tickets in reserve for late.
(7) Thunder Point will be hoping to buck its runners up trend after finding one better in each of its last four tries. Will be off the pace in transit and gunning late over the 1400m circuit under the whip of Jordan Childs.
(2) My Mate Sonny has been found in early markets, with punters happy to draw a line through the 7-year-olds last outing at Geelong where it encountered trouble. Can atone with even luck and recreate the form of two back.
(9) Vilnius E/W
$8/$2.35 (0.5 Units)
Race 8: Sportsbet Set A Deposit Limit (7:30pm AEDT)
(8) Juconi boasts a sound first up record that’ll need to be drawn on here to be in calculation, but after being positively ridden in a recent jump-out the signs are encouraging to suggest the Ballarat trained Gelding is back on track.
(3) Lang Park sits on the first line of betting to round out the Sandown meeting, with favourite backers hoping Billy Egan can punch home a winner in the last and justify the short quote, may only be beaten by the barrier.
(9) Signal slots in as another value selection having won for us last time out at Pakenham if you can cast your mind back. Omen bet in ways but happy to have a small throw at the stumps considering the price it’s been sent out at.
(8) Juconi E/W
$17/$4.50 (0.5 Units)
