Sandown & Canterbury Racing Tips for Wednesday, July 26th

Two fairly interesting racing meets in action this Wednesday, the 26th of July. We take a look at the 7 race meet at Canterbury and the 8 race meet at Sandown and give our betting tips below. 

SANDOWN RACING TIPS

Best Bet: Race 3 Pakaya Prince

I was really keen to be against him last start on the firm track at Caulfield but he ran well to finish 4th, beaten only 1.35L in a strong form race. Orient Line has since come out and run 2nd to Portman, and the key here is back onto a Soft track with showers forecast for the day too. From barrier 4 he can jump straight to the front and be very hard to run down. Only concern is 1300m and 3kg claiming apprentice. $3.70 available and we may get better on the day.

Best Value: Race 4 Eminent Son

There's been a stack of money of Eurack early on in betting but $11 looks a big price for Eminent Son. This horse has come back a different horse this prep; he bolted in first up and really should have won by much further last start if he didn't hang out so badly in the straight. Goes up 2.5kg here but if he goes straight today he may be able to defy the weight rise. 

CANTERBURY RACING TIPS

R1 - Brave Song

R4 - Special Missile (Best Bet)
R5 - Invienna
R6 - Marman EW (Best Value)
R7 - Exitozo EW / Mapmaker EW

Best Bet: Race 5 Invienna

$5.50 looks a big price to me and that's mainly why this looks one of the better bets of the day. We can play each way at the odds. Has finished in the top two on five occasions from six first up runs, has never missed a place at the distance, does all its best racing on Good ground, Bowman rides and has won a trial leading into this. First up for the new stable and when Bowman rides for Lees it generally means it's a decent winning chance. Looks a great each way bet.

Best Value: Race 6 Marman

This horse is a huge price at $17. Comes into this at his fourth run back from a spell. He's placed in his last two at Newcastle and he has two wins from three starts when fourth up. Has a win and a placing from two starts at the track and distance (his win over track and distance was last prep when fourth up). Claim brings him down to a nice weight and his price is way over the odds for mine.
