Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday September 11 2024
Race 6: Morelli's Furniture & Bedtime Handicap 1615m - 3.55pm AEST
(7) Half Yours looks a potential jet, another one, for Ciaron Maher that is owned by Col McKenna. He is 2/2 this time in, the latest at Cranbourne where he made a 600m sustained run and just got better as the race went on, winning quite impressively. He looks destined for better races and this should be another winning stepping stone.
(5) Freight Train is a key threat. Price/Kent trained gelding that resumed at Sandown where I was quite keen on his chance and against a slow race shape, he produced a brilliant finale and was impressive in winning. Maps to get a suck run in transit and he will be strong late.
(10) Powerbound has found winning form and commands some level of respect off a spank job win at Geelong. Admittedly, she got the A1 run in transit but even allowing for that, she gapped her rivals and was impressive. Beat nothing vs here, but a mare in form has to not be dismissed.
(7) Half Yours
$3.30 (5 Units)
Race 7: Benson Group Contractors Handicap 1206m - 4.30pm AEST
Really keen on (2) Modown. The jumpout work at Cranbourne from Modown has been dynamic in readiness for his return and he is Saturday class when right. C Williams booked fresh signals intent, can see him getting good cover, a drag into the race and launch late, finishing over the top.
(6) Angland is a very nice horse for Price/Kent that resumes after an opening career prep where he looked strong each time and stamped himself as Saturday. He too has looked strong in jumpout work at Cranbourne and despite the tricky gate, he commands respect.
(1) Masterful has to carry the weight but has returned well. Market wanted him with confidence when resuming at Seymour and under a peach steer from Zoe Waller, he finished best and was impressive in winning, which followed impressive jumpout work. He is the value.
(2) Modown
$4.25 (5 Units)
Race 8: Ladbrokes Own Spring Handicap 1732m - 5.05pm AEST
(15) Lonfire looks the throw at the stumps in the last. Ran over this track/distance last time where he just couldn't get a drag into the race from the back in a race dominated by the first few, but he wasn't too bad late in the piece. Gets a jockey upgrade and I do think if he is within range on the turn, he has the finale to be dangerous.
(4) Pray Day ran second in the race mentioned above, which was won by Delightful Journey. He just took a little too long to wind into his work but surged late, just missing out on the win when second, a closing second. B Shinn sticks and is one of the hardest to beat.
(2) Nearing Liberty looks like he will love the rise in trip after resuming with a maiden win over 1400m at Bendigo. He took a little while to wind into his work but got better as the race went on and surged to get there. Good upside, Williams sticks, rates highly.
(15) Lonfire E/W
$26/$6.10 (0.5U/2U)
