Rosehill Racing Tips for Wednesday, September 27th

September 26th 2017, 1:19pm, By: tim_tips

Welcome to our preview and horse racing betting tips for midweek racing at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney for Wednesday, September 27th.

We have eight races on the card today, with the track rated a Good 3 and the rail out 7m. That could mean front runners are favoured, as they have been in recent weeks at Rosehill.

We have betting tips and comments for every race on the card below. You can also check out our Flemington Preview & Tips here!

ROSEHILL RACING TIPS

Best Bet: Race 7 Mapmaker

Best Value: Race 3 Kokupu

Race 1

Looks a nice race for DEMERARA second up from a long spell here. She is undefeated from her two starts to date, which included a super impressive win first up at Gosford when leading all the way to win by 3.8L. Up in weight today but she should go straight to the front and be tough to run down with the rail out 7m. ENVY OF ALL has plenty of talent but has struggled to turn it into victories so far. She showed what she’s capable of at the end of last prep when she won by over 2L on a heavy track at Canterbury. Previous to that win she ran 2nd to both Regent and Viridine (two horses that have performed well this prep). First up here with 60kg on her back but she does get Hugh Bowman booked for the ride and it wouldn’t surprise me to see her win. WORKDRINKS won well on debut before bumping into Beacon last start; she can measure up here. MARISHKA is worth another chance at double figure odds.

TIP: Demerara

Race 2

Not overly keen on betting into this race as the prices don’t really appeal but I’ve got the favourite FRENCH TUNE on top. The booking of Kerrin McEvoy for Waterhouse/Bott is an eye-catching one. The horse started the short-priced favourite on debut when beaten 2L, but pulled up with poor post-race recovery and respiratory distress, so there may have been excuses. Has had plenty of time to spell and returns here with two trials under the belt, both of which McEvoy rode him in. He’ll lead and be there for a long way. POETIC CHARMER is also first up from a spell and Bowman rides for the Snowden’s which is generally a winning formula. He’s also had two trials leading into this and Bowman has been on board for both of them. He’ll go back from barrier 9 and it could be tough to make ground so that’s why I’ve gone around him. IOWA has had just the one start and returns from a spell here. Her two trials have been very stylish in the lead up to this. She hasn’t been pressured in either of them but won one and ran 2nd in the other. Interestingly, McEvoy rode her in the first of those trials but sticks with the Waterhouse horse here, but expect Avdulla to make full use of the good barrier and based on her trials she should be very competitive. There’s been a stack of money for SO BIZARRE first up from a spell so keep safe.

TIP: French Tune

Race 3

Fairly weak race. Put a line through READY FOR SUCCESS’s last run over this distance at Rosehill when he never saw daylight in the straight. There has been horses come out of his two runs previous to that who have won again (Bon Equus, Exoteric) and the jockey change of Collett off and Shinn on is a big plus. Never placed at four starts from the track but he’s been huge odds in all four of those starts. I’ll be having something on KOKUPU today at $12. He’s done nothing in his past two starts but if he rediscovers his form from three and four starts ago it will be enough to see him be competitive here. Sharply up in distance to 1900m today, well drawn and he finds a winnable race. GRACIOUS GREY never saw daylight two starts ago but made up for it with a win at Gosford last start. McEvoy sticks with him so he can go well again.

TIP: Ready For Success / Kokupu EW (Best Value)

Race 4

Looks a really nice race for AWOKE here, though she does have 4kg more weight than anything else in the race, which I suspect is why she’s been a betting drifter to this point. Her run last start was huge given Bowman produced a rare slaughter-job. She was slow away, then worked around the field to settle three-wide without cover on the speed before giving a kick and being run down late by Mariquita. I’m prepared to look past the weight disadvantage and back her ability against this field. Currently $2.60 but looks like we will get even better than that. I’ll also be backing ANGASI at $9. She was solid first up behind Vienna Romance and then produced a good win in a big field at Newcastle last start. She draws well and can improve again third up from a spell. THINK LIKE A BIRD was a good winner first up before travelling three-wide the trip last start at Canterbury. It was a good run all things considered and she looks to have come back well so include her. SMART AS and HUMILITY next best.

TIP: Awoke / Angasi EW

ladbrokes odds boost

Race 5

Wide open race. IN TIMES OF WAR is becoming a perennial bridesmaid but she gets her chance once again to win here with race fitness on her side. She’s never missed a place from nine starts and she does get a 2.5kg weight drop for today’s race. Bowman takes over and we’re getting a better price today. She’s paying $1.80 for the place and given she’s never missed a place you’d think that’s a pretty nice price. CRAFTY COP has a good first up record and has won his only race at the distance. His two trials leading into this have been very good and with the claim he gets in with just 56kg here. DIDDUMS is a Group 3 winner so you’d think she would be competitive back to midweek grade. The big concern for me today is she wears concussion plates on her front feet for the first time, and that’s enough to turn me off her. POMELO won a string of weaker races last prep before failing ijn the Provincial Championship. The apprentice on from the wide barrier is a concern. OZARK has won four from eight, including two in a row to end the campaign last time in. Resumes here with two good trials under the belt and from the good draw with Avdulla on he should go close. FIFTEEN SUNFLOWERS the blowout – she’s won two from four first up and has performed well here before.

TIP: In Times Of War / Crafty Cop EW

Race 6

This race isn’t much easier. MY TRUE LOVE gets a huge drop in class here after running 2nd in both Group 2 and Group 3 company to finish her campaign last time in. She’s had the three trials leading into this (not the best trials, though) so she’ll burn across the front from the wide gate and be hard to run down. We should get a good run for our money at the $5.50 price. OSBOURNE BULLS is undefeated from three starts and looks up to a race like this. She came from last when winning last start at Gosford and she may have to do similar from the wide barrier here. The value could be PIANISSIMO down the bottom of the weights. He’s got a good first up record which includes a win first up last prep, though he may be better suited to wet tracks. With the good draw and just 52kg on his back he should be able to run a good race fresh. COGLIERE can show good improvement second up here. Comes out of a good race first up and he’s won two from three second up so $31 looks a big price. INVINCIBELLA, SMART AMELIA and FAITH’S ENCORE others to include.

TIP: My True Love EW

Race 7

Really keen on MAPMAKER here. Drops back from some strong Saturday races and finds a very winnable race here against a bunch of horses resuming or targeting longer races. From the good barrier today they’ll have him right up on the speed and he’s got a good record at this track and the distance. He’s short enough but it does look his race today. The value could be WU GOK for Waller, first up from a spell. Has won at this distance previously, though did go on to record some big wins over 2200m last prep. Also ran 2nd to Interlocuter who came out and was first past the post in Saturday grade a few weeks back. Drawn well and worth including at double figure odds. Expect FOTENSKY to go forward again and give them something to chase. With the rail out 7m he will be there for a long way. MARIQUITA next best.

TIP: Mapmaker (Best Bet) / Wu Gok EW

Race 8

PASSAGE OF TIME draws poorly here but I’m expecting a big run fresh. He’s had two quiet trials leading into this and has form behind the likes of New Universe last prep. Has won his only start first up previously and has a great record at the distance. He’ll go on to better races than this and should be right in the finish today if Schofield can give him a good ride. ROSA CAROLINA is ready to peak third up from a spell here. She was just 2L off the winner last start and her second up run is always a bit below par, but she tends to bounce back third up so she could be the value at $7. GAULOIS has form behind the likes of Pierata, Envy Of All and Trekking and trialled well behind Passage Of Time leading into this so from the good draw he’s a definite winning chance. OUR ROYAL EGYPTIAN comes off a big win in maiden grade in the provincials so is a place chance. Include CELLARMAN for Waller/Bowman.

TIP: Passage Of Time
