Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Saturday, June 1st 2024
Race 1: Midway BM72 1100m - 11:00am (AEST)
(1) Ningaloo Star $4.00: 4YO mare who blitz them last start in this grade over 1250m on the heavy deck winning by almost 5L and she was eased over the line. Had the 3rd fasted 400-200m for the day there and the 7th fastest last 200m for the day even after being eased up. Draws a sticky gate today, so will require a little luck from the outside, but if she can ping to the front or sit close enough she should be right around the mark here. Gets a 3kg claim which puts her half a kilo lighter than last starts win. Fitter again here for the third up run and demands respect.
(4) Cripps Tonite $6.00: Each way chance of the race. Resuming 4YO who is very consistent and has a terrific record over this trip and when first up. Relishes some give in the ground, so is deserving of a small play here and one id definitely have in the exotics.
(1) Conrad $19.00: 5YO who is capable of much better than what we saw last prep. Has had two handy trials leading into this first up run and loves this trip. Gets a small claim and is a sneaky chance at big odds. Will need to overcome gate 18 though.
(1) Ningaloo Star
$4.00 (2 Units)
Race 7: Lord Mayors Cup 2000m– 2:30pm (AEST)
(5) Sibaaq $6.50/$2.25: 6YO who meets similar rivals again here that have all come out of the Scone Cup two weeks ago. Finished less than a length behind the winner, SKY LAB who he meets again here and the second place getter in WATERFORD who he also meets better at the weights. Draws a nice gate and maps to be up on the pace which looks like where you’d want to be on this deck especially if they aren’t running on in the early races, id be even more keen to go all chips in. Will go close.
(3) Waterford $3.80: Unlucky not to win the Scone Cup where he probably took that little too long to make his move and shift out into clear running. Draws a sticky gate here today and adds some extra weight, but does love this track and goes well on the soft. Extra distance looks suitable.
(1) Sky Lab $10.00/$3.00: First up win was very impressive ion the Scone Cup where he flew home to pick them all up. Draws a better gate today which should help with sitting a little closer, but he is happy his way and demands respect off that previous win. Lugs top weight, but if they are making ground throughout the early races he is a main danger again here.
(5) Sibaaq E/W
$6.50/$2.25 (1U/2U)
Race 8: TAB BM78 1800m - 3:05pm (AEST)
(11) Nana’s Wish $5.50/$2.15: 4YO mare who has been very genuine and gets in very well here today at the weights. Proven on the soft deck and is ready for 1800m now off her previous outings. Ben Allen for C. Maher looks like a good combo for my money. Keen at an each way price and with the early market support. $10 > $5.50.
(17) Naval Commission $4.80: Stable mate to Nana’s Wish who has been terrific of late with two wins in a row and is looking for the hattrick here. Unbeaten on the heavy track, so if any rain is about he will be the one to back. Can go on with it here.
(4) For Victory $6.50: 4YO who hasn’t missed the trifecta in his last 6 outings. Takes on similar class again here and meets Unusual Legacy much better at the weights who beat him last start. Rock hard fit and very honest type. Prefer him on the dry, but still capable of another good race here.
(11) Nana’s Wish E/W
$5.50/$2.15 (1U/2U)
