Boxing Day is a huge day for sport in Australia. Throw in a quality 8-race Randwick meeting to the long list of exciting events taking place throughout the day.
Here's a belated Christmas present from Blake Lalor as he brings us his Randwick racing tips for Boxing Day.
Randwick Racing Tips: Monday December 26th 2022 (Boxing Day)
Race 1
(3) Amor Victorious has run 2nd on both occasions in his short career and gets yet another chance to win in this maiden over the mile. He’s capable of winning it and the wide draw shouldn’t be a major concern with this horse being the only prominent leader in the race.
(11) Maritima is the clear danger here having consistently run solid races without being able to manage her first win. Suspect that trend may continue here with Amor Victorious looking the more likely winner to me
(9) Kenichi is a roughie that can be thrown in for exotics. He was short on debut and didn’t get the best of luck from gate 1. Can improve now 2nd up.

Race 4
(2) Van Giz looks well-placed to win here after putting in a solid performance 1st up amongst some good horses at Randwick. He was only 1.5L off Our Bellagio Miss there and meets much weaker opposition this time in.
(3) Suprina can be hit or miss but possesses the ability to win this race. She is a nice e/w price here and could be worth a save.
(5) Feel The Knight is a talented runner. He was 3rd at Wagga last time but is better than that and can figure in the finish in this race. He’ll appreciate having the 2kg claim from Zac Lloyd too.
(2) Van Giz win

Race 5
(2) Royal Merchant will win again and make it 3 in a row here. She’s a very promising filly who was too good for Spiritchaser and then King Of Naples in her 2 runs so far this prep. This will be interesting to see if she continues to improve 3rd up but it should be a facile victory for her here regardless.
(6) Black On Beauty presents as one of the main dangers in this race but looks unlikely to trouble the favourite in all honesty. She’s drawn wide and may struggle to get across with a bit of pace drawn underneath her.
(9) Arale may just get into the placings here with the dream barrier draw and race shape for her. She’s drawn gate 1 and has the pace to be able to settle 1-2 pairs back on the rail. From there she may be able to find a gap late to sneak into the finish.
(2) Royal Merchant win

Race 6
(2) Sky Lab was the flashing light from the Ingham last time and was half the price of Lion’s Roar. He’ll appreciate the 2000m now and is drawn well in gate 3 to run extremely well here. Confident he’ll win or go close in this.
(4) Diamil was poor last time dropping back to 1600m in the Ingham. He’s back up to a suitable trip over 2000m this time and should improve. 3rd behind Ellsberg and Sibaaq is incredibly strong form so if this horse brings that he can win.
(1) Lion’s Roar is the other notable runner out of the Ingham and was 2nd at cricket score odds. He looks slightly less suited here than Sky Lab but still has the ability to win this race if a few others are below their best of experience some trouble in the run.
