NRL Round 5 - Sunday NRL Betting Tips
Bulldogs vs Roosters (Sunday, 4:05pm)
The Bulldogs earned their first win of the season last Monday as they outplayed the dreadful Dragons in a 22-2 victory. But they'll face a massive task against the in-form Roosters on Sunday and the betting markets aren't expecting a close game. So the Bulldogs defensive structure will need to be at it's very best to curtail the many Roosters weapons. In good news for the Dogs, Keiran Foran made a successful return to injury on Monday and to keep the Dragons scoreless for 77 minutes should give them confidence against the Roosters this Sunday. In team news, they've made just the one change thus far with Christian Crichton coming into the 17 for Kerrod Holland. Reimis Smith has also been suspended so Crichton will likely come into the starting side.
A slow start to season 2020 for the Roosters is now a distant memory after Sydney's impressive form after the break. They comfortably beat Souths 28-12 at this venue in Round 3 and then absolutely demolished the Broncos 59-0 at Suncorp last Thursday. The tri-colours scored 10 unanswered tries as the Broncos defence just had no answers for the 80 minutes. Angus Crichton scored a double, Lindsay Collins was huge off the bench and there weren't many negatives to write home about for Trent Robinson. The result was even more impressive considering James Tedesco was a late out. He's back this week and that will see Ryan Hall move out of the team. The only other change will see Brett Morris move back to his wing position. There's also good news in the injury department as Victor Radley is right to play after what looked like a serious elbow injury last Thursday.
Based on the Roosters form at the moment, it's going to be a tough challenge for the Bulldogs and that's reflected in the line of 16.5 points. So we like the value on offer for the Bulldogs scoring under 12.5 points. In the last 4 meetings with the Roosters, they've scored under 12.5 points in all 4 games and average just 9 points per game. Not to mention, the Roosters are coming off a shutout and we doubt the Dogs can have much success when they get inside the Roosters 20.

Dragons vs Sharks (Sunday, 6:30pm)
It's time for the Dragons to show some heart and desire this Sunday because their last 2 performances after the break have been absolutely dreadful. They were shutout by the Warriors 18-0 on the Central Coast and then in Monday's Queens Birthday clash, they could only manage 2 points against the Dogs. Which included 77 minutes of scoreless and error-riddled Rugby League. On paper, this team has a lot of talent so there's something very wrong at St. George right now. They've also lost 4 of their last 5 meetings with the Sharks and an 0-5 start to season 2020 will likely end any chance of finals. In team news, they've lost Wiliame and Sims to injury. Euan Aitken comes into the side in the centres and Tyrell Fuimaono will start in the forward pack. But the Dragons could make a few other team changes before kick-off.
The Sharks are back from Townsville with a win under their belt and they'll be super confident of back to back wins when they meet the Dragons this Sunday. While it was a sloppy affair with the Cowboys last Saturday night, the Sharks overcame 6 players failing their temperature test in the warmup in what was an interesting distraction. On the field, Jesse Ramien was impressive as he scored a double and Ronaldo Mulitalo also enjoyed a double on either side of half-time. In team news for Sunday's clash, Chad Townsend is expected back and will replace Moylan in the halves. That will see Moylan back at fullback and Kennedy is the unlucky out. Another huge in will be Andrew Fifita as makes his comeback from a calf injury. Ronaldo Mulitalo has a knee issue and he'll be replaced by Mawene Hiroti.
Unless the Dragons have figured out their problems in just one week of training, the Sharks simply can't drop this game. However, considering the Dragons have scored 2 points in 160 minutes of footy since the break, we love the Unders when they're involved. The Under also a nice 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
