Melbourne Storm
Held their strong, home ground advantage with a statement victory over the Roosters. You cannot doubt the Storm and they are continuing to look like a formidable team. Head on the road to face the Eels and will only want to continue strong performances and build confidence.

Penrith Panthers
Scraped home with a Golden Point victory after resting several Origin stars. The return of Cleary was crucial; he sealed the game with a FG when it mattered most. They are well positioned moving forward and face off against the Dragons on Sunday.

Sydney Roosters
Ill-discipline was their downfall on Saturday; their lack of execution in key moments also hurt them too. Cannot be too worried about the result. They will be better for it moving forward. Host the Sea Eagles in another tough match but will be ready to bounce back.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Lost no admirers with their road loss to the Cowboys. Should be better for that match moving forward. Pushing a team like the Cowboys, at home, is a confidence building performance. Another tough test (and a short turnaround) to contend with as they face the Broncos on the road.

The Dolphins
Pushed the Panthers to Golden Point but could’ve won the game had they taken a few different options. Frustrating at times but ‘belong’ in the Top 8. Head home to host the Titans and will want to make a statement with a strong performance in that match.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
Finding form at the right stage of the season and are on a 3-game winning streak. They were impressive in their 30-point win over the Titans and will need to continue such performances to consolidate their position in the Top 8. Face an acid test against the Roosters this week.

Cronulla Sharks
Had a week off with the Bye following their strong win over the Tigers. A week out of the spotlight will allow them to refocus ahead of a run towards the Finals. Hit the road to face the Cowboys and will not want to produce a poor performance in that match.

Brisbane Broncos
It is no coincidence that their improvement coincided with Reynolds’ return. They were a different team, with many players appearing more confident. Head home to face the Bulldogs and can ill-afford to lose any matches in the run towards the Finals.

St George-Illawarra Dragons
Needed a Bye after several testing matches. Sit inside the Top 8 but the pressure is about to increase dramatically. They host the Panthers next week and will want to make a statement in that match. Whether they are capable or not remains unknown.

+1 |
South Sydney Rabbitohs
Did enough to defeat the Tigers but did look fragile. Still need a lot to go right if they are to push for a spot in the Finals. Head to Canberra to face the Raiders with the loser basically unable to make the Finals.

Newcastle Knights
Were outclassed by the Broncos in every way. Need a quick turnaround in form if they are to stop their run of 5 losses in 7 games. Have the Bye this week to regroup, before traveling to face the Panthers with their season on the line.

+2 |
North Queensland Cowboys
Needed a win against the Bulldogs and thankfully for their 2024 campaign, delivered. Still underwhelming in several areas given the strength of their squad. Are just 2-points away from 4th but have a points difference of +1. Host the Sharks next week in another challenging fixture.

New Zealand Warriors
Were let down by goal kicking against the Raiders. Their 2024 campaign is hanging by a thread. Host the Tigers and if they lose that match, do not deserve to play Finals.

+1 |
Canberra Raiders
Benefitted from their opponents’ missing conversions. Still, they fought hard for victory. Something is still missing from this team though. Host the Rabbitohs next Sunday and cannot afford a loss.

-3 |
Gold Coast Titans
Started strongly against the Sea Eagles but once their line was penetrated, they became a completely different team. The ‘old Titans’ were back; inconsistent, incompetent and inept. They only have themselves to blame and have some ‘soul searching’ to do ahead of their match against the Dolphins.

- |
Parramatta Eels
A week off with the Bye did little to improve their chances. News of the injury to Moses in Origin is deflating. Players are performing for their new coach ahead of his impending arrival next season. Host the Storm in a difficult match next week.

Wests Tigers
Tried hard against the Rabbitohs and were in with a chance of victory. Ultimately, their lack of experience meant they were unable to close out the match. Languishing in 17th spot, they are in desperate need of a victory to climb off the bottom of the ladder. A tough road trip to face the Warriors doesn’t make things any easier.
