The Friday night footy double-headers continue in Round 16, starting with the Dragons looking for a 3rd straight win as they meet the struggling Titans. At the SCG, the Roosters will look to replicate their 59-0 drubbing of the Broncos earlier this season.
NRL Round 16 Friday Betting Tips
Dragons vs Titans
Fri, Aug 28 6:00pm
With the Dragons sitting 10th on the ladder and 5 rounds remaining, every game is pretty much a must-win at this point. Last week, they survived a gallant Broncos side at Suncorp 28-24. But after scoring 2 tries in the opening 5 minutes, it was a poor defensive display (27 missed tackles) by the Dragons, especially considering Haas was missing for the home team. So the key against the Gold Coast will be quelling the influence of Brimson / Fogarty and taking advantage of the Titans leaky edge defence. In team selections, the Dragons will miss Vaughan to suspension and Sims to injury. So Ford and Brittain come onto the bench.
It's all about next season for the Titans at the moment and they couldn't match it with the Raiders at home last week in the 36-16 loss. A late injury to Ash Taylor didn't help their gameplan, especially with Arrow and Proctor already on the sidelines. To make matters worse, one of their best performers in 2020 - Moeiaki Fotuaika has been suspended. So Peachey will move to lock and Fermor is back in the 2nd row. At hooker, Peats has been dropped again for Mitch Rein.
Hard to see the undermanned Titans causing an upset on Friday night, especially considering the Dragons have already beaten them 20-8 this season. However, St. George did struggle with Brisbane last week and we're not overly keen on the line or high total. So we feel Mikaele Ravalawa is a safe bet in the anytime tryscorer markets after a double last week and the Titans edge defence gives up plenty of tries.

Roosters vs Broncos
Fri, Aug 28 7:55pm
As we expected, the Roosters dominance over the Tigers continued last Saturday as they cruised to a 38-16 victory. The Morris brothers eat tries for breakfast and the pair scored four more tries on the weekend. However, the win was soured by an injury to Matt Ikuvalu early in the contest. But in timely news, Daniel Tupou is fit and will return on the wing. Sydney will also regain their captain Boyd Cordner and they’re usually hard to stop when he’s in the lineup. So the Broncos are facing a mammoth task on Friday night!
No shocks off the field for the struggling 15th placed Broncos as Anthony Seibold has been sacked. On the field, they did show some fight against the Dragons last week after falling behind 12-0 in 6 minutes to concede a 28-24 defeat. It was also positive to see them out-gain the Dragons despite missing Haas to suspension. However, his presence will be missed against the Roosters here. They've also lost Milford to an ongoing hamstring issue and Sean O'Sullivan will play 5/8th. Issac Luke has been suspended and Paix will take his spot at hooker.
It's hard to forget the last meeting between the two sides as the Roosters were unstoppable in a 59-0 victory in early June. Not much has changed for Brisbane and their defence so we feel like the Roosters will be very hard to stop inside the 20. Especially with a number of their injured starters back in the lineup. So we feel like the Over is likely a safer bet at this point compared to the line.
