After a tough first round we are back with more AFL betting tips for the 2015 season.
Once again there are some interesting games and quite a few which look tricky to decipher. However, it also looks like there are a few solid betting spots, so read on and check out our 2015 AFL Round 2 Betting Tips.

West Coast Eagles Vs. Carlton Blues (Friday, April 9 at 8:10pm AEST)
It’s crazy to think that a game could be ‘season defining’ as early as Round 2, but that’s what we have here with the Eagles and Blues. Both teams are coming off tough losses in Round 1 and both have just as much to prove as the other.
This one is over in the West, which automatically swings the game in the Eagles’ favour. However, their backline is still looking a little dodgy and the news got no better last week with Mitch Brown now out for the season and Scott Selwood on the sidelines. Carlton isn’t without their injury woes either, losing Dale Thomas last week.
We think the Blues will be competitive as they add Levi Casboult and Jason Tutt to their arsenal against the struggling Eagles backline. However, the Eagles should find enough at home to scrape over the line.
Tip: West Coast Eagles by 1-39 (Under 39.5) - $2.20 at Ladbrokes
Richmond Tigers Vs. Western Bulldogs (Saturday, April 10 at 1:45pm AEST)
The Western Bulldogs have been hyped up in 2015, especially after their win against the Eagles last week. Round 2 will show us whether it’s warranted or not when they come up against the Tigers.
The Tigers looked woeful to kick off the start of their Round 1 game against the Blues, but turned it around and finished up with a 27-point win. Brett Deledio being out certainly won’t help the Tigers either, but on their day they still are a better team than the Bulldogs. In saying that, we expect a much closer game than the bookies who have the Tigers down as $1.35 favourites and like the look of the Dogs at the line.
Tip: Western Bulldogs at the line (+19.5) - $1.92 at Sportsbet
GWS Giants Vs. Melbourne Demons (Saturday, April 11 at 2:10pm AEST)
It’s not something you would have heard over the last few seasons, but either GWS Giants or Melbourne Demons will start 2015 with two consecutive wins. The Giants are the favourites paying around $1.45 but we aren’t sure they should be. They only just beat the Saints last week, while Melbourne impressively defeated the Suns by four goals. It’s up at StarTrack Oval in Canberra, but that shouldn’t worry the Demons.
The Demons add Bernie Vince and Chris Dawes this week – two players we consider close to the most important on their list. With these two in the side, we think if Demons play anywhere near as solid as last week they will be tough to beat.
Tip: Melbourne Demons by 1-39 (Under 39.5) - $3.40 at Sportsbet
Collingwood Magpies Vs. Adelaide Crows (Saturday, April 11 at 4:35pm AEST)
The Magpies surprised us almost as much as the Crows last week and now they meet each other in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon. While we did think the Lions would beat the Magpies, it probably wasn’t a big shock and certainly not as shocking as the Crows defeating the Kangaroos by 77 points.
On current form and the fact that Steele Sidebottom is out we lean heavily towards an Adelaide Crows victory. The Pies started to fade against the Lions last week and if they do that here, the Crows will punish them – especially if Taylor Walker fires up like he did against the Kangas.
Tip: Adelaide Crows at the line (-12.5) - $1.92 at Ladbrokes
Gold Coast Suns Vs. St Kilda Saints (Saturday, April 11 at 7:20pm AEST)
This one up at Metricon Stadium is all about how the Suns respond to a terribly disappointing loss to Melbourne last week. Hopefully Gary Ablett improves on a mediocre performance last week and the rest of the Suns stand up around him. At the end of the day, the Suns are playing the team we rate as the worst in the competition. It’s at home too, so there really won’t be any excuses here. Considering their form last week, the Suns are too short at $1.20 and the line is too big at five goals. Sit this one out.
Tip: No Bet
Port Adelaide Power Vs. Sydney Swans (Saturday, April 11 at 7:10pm AEST)
This is a massive game. The Power are coming off a very gallant loss against Freo on the road, while the Swans managed a solid win after starting slow against the Dons.
There is no doubt these are two of the best teams in the comp and two teams we will certainly be seeing a lot of come September. The fact this is at home and considering how slow the Swans started last week, you just have to give the edge to the Power.
Tip: Port Adelaide by 1-39 (Under 39.5) - $2.35 at Ladbrokes
Geelong Cats Vs. Fremantle Dockers (Sunday, April 12 at 1:10pm AEST)
Are the bookies placing too much emphasis on the home ground? That’s the question we are asking when looking at the odds for the Geelong Cats Vs. Fremantle game. Let’s not forget how poor the Cats were against the Hawks last week and how strong the Dockers were against the Power.
The last time these two met at Simonds Stadium the Cats won by just two points. Surely the Cats will respond strongly after last week like any champion team would, but at the end of the day, there is too much value with a fired up Fremantle at $2.

Essendon Bombers Vs. Hawthorn Hawks (Sunday, April 12 at 3:20pm AEST)
It’s lucky the Essendon Bombers will have had an eight-day break in the lead up to this game after looking so tired in the late stages of last week’s loss to Sydney. It doesn’t help that the Bombers are playing the best side in the league, however.
This is going to be a tough game for the Bombers. It will be very interesting to see where they are at after such a hopeful start last week. Hawthorn should win, but unfortunately there is no value with them at $1.20 and the line looks a little tricky at 30 points.
Tip: No Bet
North Melbourne Kangaroos Vs. Brisbane Lions (Sunday, April 12 at 4:40pm)
It’s as simple as this – if North Melbourne play as bad as they did in Round 1, they will lose this game to Brisbane on Sunday afternoon. We do, however, think that is unlikely as we rate the Kangaroos as a top six team and their coach Brad Scott will not be letting his team come out with another performance like that.
While the Lions were disappointing in their loss to Collingwood last week, there were some positive signs. All those signs ended up falling to the wayside as the Lions’ best player Tom Rockliff was sidelined by injury. It’s going to be extremely tough for the young Lions to stand up without their general. We are expecting an easy North Melbourne win.
Tip: North Melbourne at the line (-35.5) - $1.92 at Sportsbet
