NRL Round 12 Friday Betting Tips
Wests Tigers vs Warriors
(Fri, Jul 31 6:00pm)
The Tigers head to the SCG on Friday night as massive favourites over the Warriors and Wests will be keen to move into the top 8. They come off a 26-16 loss against the Eels last week, which was disappointing after a great start to the game (scoring 2 of the first 3 tries). Ultimately, they completed just 72% of their sets and just made too many errors throughout the 80 minutes. But there's good news in team selections. The important Alex Twal returns from a knee injury and Luke Garner is also back to strengthen the back row. Meanwhile, Packer is out with suspension and Matt Eisenhuth has lost his spot in the starting 17.
Last Saturday, the Warriors were given no chance of competing with the Roosters but they turned up with a spirited defensive effort in the 18-10 defeat. So that should give them some confidence of an upset this Friday night. However, they'll be missing a few important players as they head back to NZ for personal reasons. This includes Fusitu'a, Maumalo and Chanel Harris-Tavita. So loan players from the Eels in George Jennings and Daniel Alvaro have been included in the starting 17. Wayde Egan also returns on the bench and Patrick Herbert will move to the wing.
The underdog line for the Warriors could be an option considering their performance last week. But in saying that, the Warriors aren't known for their consistency week to week. So we have to like the Over as this should be a free-flowing game at the SCG between two sides that can throw the ball around, especially the Tigers after their recent crushing win over Brisbane.

Broncos vs Sharks
(Fri, Jul 31 7:55pm)
Another week and another heavy defeat for the Broncos as they come off a 46-8 loss to the Storm. To make matters even worse in 2020, David Fifita has signed a mega-deal with cross-town rivals the Titans, adding more fuel to that rivalry. However, the Broncos did show some signs of life in the first half against Melbourne last week and hopefully, that can continue at Suncorp on Friday night. They've been forced into another spine reshuffle as Brodie Croft misses with injury and that'll see Anthony Milford back in the halves. Boyd returns to fullback and Farnworth will play in the centres. Jake Turpin is also back at hooker.
The Sharks held off the Dragons last week in a 4 point win and that has them sitting 7th on the ladder with 6 wins / 5 losses. Cronulla dominated the latter stages of the first half as they headed to the sheds with a 22-14 lead. They struggled in the second half but just got over the line in the end. However, the win was soured by an injury to halfback Chad Townsend and that'll see him miss this important clash. Congrats to Josh Dugan as he brings up 200 games and he'll replace Goodwin in the starting 13. Nikora is also back from suspension and that pushes Williams to the bench.
Interestingly, the Broncos are a massive bogey side for the Sharks as they've lost 6 straight against them. So we are going to stick with the trend and just hope the Broncos don’t throw in the towel in the second half. With 3 of the last 4 clashes finishing under a 5 point margin, we like the value for either team winning by under 10.5 points here.
