The world of esports continues to get plenty of exposure in current circumstances and this Friday, the 3rd of April offers another great slate of matchups within the CS:GO and DOTA2.
We take a look at some of the key games of the day in CS:GO and DOTA2 and give our betting tips below.
Esports Betting Tips: CSGO and Dota2 – Friday, 3rd April
Mousesports vs G2
ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe
Both mousesports and G2 Esports have had a fair share of iffy moments throughout the first week of the competition, yet they also shared some of the same results, including wins over FaZe Clan, Virtus.pro and TYLOO, as well as losses to OG. These two sides also met in round two of the group stage at IEM Katowice, where G2 pulled out a reverse sweep to set themselves up for a grand final run.
Despite G2's win over mouz in February, there is not a lot to separate these two sides, which is reflected in the betting odds. Looking solely at their last four fixtures, mousesports performed slightly better, but considering this is an online format, we would advise staying away from an outright bet, as this can easily turn into a "coin-toss" match. What's more, both teams have a similar map pool, which combined with the volatile nature of an online game, suggests this is a perfect match to grab an over 2.5 map bet.
100 Thieves vs FURIA
ESL Pro League Season 11 North America
During ESL Pro League Season 11 North America, FURIA won two out of three matches played against Team Liquid and MiBR, but fell short against Evil Geniuses. 100 Thieves, on the other side, defeated Swole Patrol and Evil Geniuses but failed to deliver against Team Liquid and MiBR where they failed to win a single map, however, both affairs were fairly close, so perhaps 100 Thieves deserve some slack for their defeats.
100 Thieves are entering this bout priced at around $1.60, which overrates them a bit. Not so much because they are a bad team, but instead because FURIA seem to be on the rise and the fact that they lost only two of their nine matches since February suggests they are in great form. FURIA's stronger form should help the Brazilian outfit to secure a W and at provided odds, this bet is hard to pass on.
FaZe vs OG
ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe
FaZe have improved significantly over the course of the last three months and their close fixture with reigning IEM Katowice champions Natus Vincere, as well as strong run through BLAST Premier Spring Series 2020, where Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and co. haven't lost a single map, suggests FaZe might be slowly returning to their old form. At ESL Pro League, FaZe already defeated TYLOO and Virtus.pro, however, when faced with a stronger opponent (G2) FaZe failed to deliver. It's worth noting, however, that FaZe came close to winning against G2 Esports, but were a bit unlucky with their attempts.
Due to their surge in form, this would be a perfect opportunity to side with FaZe to defeat the newly-established OG. That being said, the $1.40 odds offered on FaZe overrates them quite a bit. OG might not be one of the elite CS:GO teams, but they are surely a much stronger team to what the odds suggest, especially in an online format. Bet on OG to bounce back following their 1-2 loss to Virtus.pro and secure the first seed in Group C.
Newbee vs ViCi Gaming
ESL One Los Angeles Dota2 Major: China
Newbee were quite unfortunate to end their group stage venture as the third seed, which sent them into the lower bracket of the playoffs. Nonetheless, they're still only two steps away from entering the finals and only three steps away from winning their first big tournament since ESL One Genting in January 2018.
ViCi Gaming are priced as the team to beat here which seems fair, as they are a stronger team on the paper. Having said that, Newbee already swept them 2-0 on Monday, and played a close fixture with ViCi at China Dota2 Professional League Season 2 on Wednesday, which suggests this fixture won't be as one-sided as the odds suggest. In all fairness, Newbee have a realistic chance to upset ViCi once more, but at the provided odds, betting on over 2.5 maps is a much more appealing bet to take. Either side can lose, but it's hard to imagine we will see a clean sweep.
