Best Bet: Race 3 - (7) Parche
Best Value Bet: Race 6 - (5) Yitai Synergy
Not an overly inspiring maiden to kick things off but the $5.00 about (3) Broadside Armour each way looks a reasonable bet. He's on debut for John O'Shea and Brenton Avdulla, with two trials leading into this. John O'Shea is flying, with six top-two finishes from his past 10 runners, while Avdulla has had 15 rides for him this season, resulting in 11 top-two finishes. So they are a combination to follow. The slight query is O'Shea has a poor record at Warwick Farm, but this is a winnable race if the horse is good enough. (4) Kinship ran well on debut and looks the danger.
(3) Broadside Armour

This is a good little race. I'm interested in (2) Judge Judi at $5.00, who comes into this second up after being beaten 4L into 4th first up on Boxing Day at Randwick. She's got a terrific second up record with three wins and a 3rd from four starts. Billy Owen takes 3kg off today and she should be competitive in an open race. (1) Snips hasn't had the most luck in his two most recent starts. Barrier 1 might not be the greatest for him but he'll go close again, while (7) To Your Health comes off a strong win last start.
She'll need a very good ride from the wide draw but (7) Parche looks the one to beat here. She was very firm in the market on debut behind Just Thinkin' back in August and should have finished closer than she did. She then drifted heavily at her second start, was caught wide without cover the trip and was comfortably beaten. She resumes from a spell today with two eye-catching trials under the belt and notably, James McDonald rode her in both of those. He sticks with her for race day and so long as she gets some cover from the gate, I'd expect her to prove too good.
Not particularly interested in anything at all in this race. (5) Magic Choir goes on top but not with much confidence. He steps up to 1400m for the first time after a long spell and three of his four career wins have come at this distance. Prior to last start he was racing well and if he could bring that form he'd be competitive once again. $5.50 for him is the only price I'm interested in taking as there's plenty of queries about a few of the other market leaders.
(3) Lifetime Quest resumes today and comes up the $2.25 favourite. That looks well and truly short enough for a horse that's made a habit of running placings, but he does look the one to beat. He's yet to finish out of the money from his nine career starts, but just two of those have been wins, so he has a bit of a bridesmaid tag to shed. Has to carry the full 61kg first up but he'll be right in the finish. (6) Balonne looks the value at $8.50. He's a bit the opposite in that he's made a habit of winning in recent times, with three victoies from his past five starts. On the other two occasions, he ran 2nd and was caught four-wide the trip in the other.
Very competitive race. (9) Private Thoughts is only lightly raced and comes into this on the back of successive wins. She should sit off the hot speed and be strong late. (4) Designer Maid can be thrown in at big odds. She didn't fire last preparation but they were in some strong races and her form prior to that would make her competitive here. She's won two of her three starts when first up and trialled well so don't be shocked to see her go well at big odds. (5) Yitai Synergy didn't get a lot of luck last start when held up most of the straight at Randwick. She was a winner at Kembla prior to that and James McDonald jumps on for the Snowdens today.
Value: (4) Designer Maid $20
(6) Feather looks the one to beat quite clearly here. She is only the winner of one of her 10 career starts but she's knocking on the door for another. She was beaten a nose last start over 1250m at Kensington, with a clear gap back to third, which is always a good sign. She now steps up to 1400m third up from a spell and so long as she can overcome a wide draw, she should be very hard to beat. Her only win was over this distance and also came third up.
