A-League Round 10 Betting Tips
Melbourne Victory vs Wellington Phoenix
Saturday, 5pm AEDT
Melbourne Victory have had a nightmare first nine rounds of their campaign and look to be in serious danger of missing the finals for the first time in a long time. Last weekend they fell to new rivals western United 3-1, which was their second loss to them this season and their fifth loss overall.
Wellington Phoenix have surprised many with their recent run of results. They’ve come from nowhere to win three straight games, all of which they’ve been the deserving victors in. Phoenix look to be playing with great confidence at the moment and have even jumped into the top six as it currently stands.
It’s impossible to have any faith in Melbourne Victory at the moment, even if they’re on their home deck. On the other hand, Phoenix have won three on the spin and will be confident they can continue on their winning ways. We’re siding with the form team here and are more than happy with the generous odds available.
Sydney FC vs Central Coast Mariners
Saturday, 7:30pm AEDT
Sydney FC are and have been the best team in the competition for a number of years now. There were a few brave punters saying they’ll drop off after their title run last season, but they’ve shown absolutely no signs of doing that as we approach the midway point of the season. They’ve won five on the spin and are now a comfortable five points clear at the top of the table.
The Mariners had their scheduled bye last weekend and should have fresh legs in Sydney. Prior to their week off they were 2-0 losers against Brisbane Roar, which put an end to a rare two-game winning streak. The Mariners come into this in last spot on the ladder despite winning two from their last three.
At home and in the form they’re in, there’s no way you can oppose Sydney in this one. Rarely do they slip up on their home deck, especially when they’re up against a poor side like the Mariners, so we expect Sydney to be winning this by 2+ goals.
Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Saturday, 9:45pm AEDT
Perth Glory finally got back onto the winners list when they defeated Melbourne City on the road last time out. They put in a terrific performance on against a good side to put an end to a string of poor results. There’s still a long way to go before Glory can be considered genuine contenders again, but they certainly put one foot in the right direction last weekend.
The Wanderers season has taken a savage turn over the past five or six weeks. They impressively kicked off their campaign with three wins from three games and were sitting on top of the ladder, however, they’ve since lost four of their last five and now look to be a club entering a crisis.
Perth Glory certainly haven’t been consistent this season, but if there’s ever been an opportunity for them to snag back to back wins, it’s this weekend against the Wanderers. We’re prepared to take the shorts and back Glory into win at home.
