Copa America Final Betting Tips
Brazil vs Peru (Monday 6am AEST)
It’s highly unlikely that anyone predicted a Brazil vs Peru Copa America final, but here we are. They’ve been the best of the 12 teams in this year’s tournament and have earned the right to face off in the final. Brazil, the #3 ranked nation in the world will take on the #21 ranked nation in Peru.
Brazil
Brazil were the red-hot favourites to take out this tournament before it commenced, and you can see why with the results they’ve had. Amazingly, they’re yet to concede a goal from five fixtures, while scoring 10 of their own.
Brazil were dominant in their group with two impressive wins and one stalemate against Venezuela. They then survived a scare against Paraguay in the quarterfinals where they prevailed in penalties, before taking out Lionel Messi and Argentina in the semi-finals by two goals to nil.
The host nation has three players that have scored two goals in this campaign, which incredibly is enough to share a lead in the Golden Boot race as we approach the final. 14 players in total are on two goals.
Road to the Final
GS1 – defeated Bolivia 3-0
GS2 – drew with Venezuela 0-0
GS3 – defeated Peru 5-0
QF – drew with Paraguay 0-0 (won 4-3 in pens)
SF – defeated Argentina 2-0
Peru
What a surprise packet Peru has been to make it all the way to the final. They were huge underdogs to get this far and have had to do it the hard way as well. Scoring just three goals and conceding six in the group stage, the Peruvians were one of three teams that qualified for the knockout phase despite finishing third in their group.
Peru were also fairly lucky in their first knockout match against Luis Suarez and Uruguay where they defeated them 5-4 in a penalty shootout. There was no such luck in their semi-final win over Chile however, as the underdogs scored a brilliant 3-0 win to earn their place in the final.
Peru have won just two of their five matches at this year’s Copa America but have been able to get results when it matters most. Not conceding a goal in their last two knockout matches will give them a lot of confidence in the final.
Road to the Final
GS1 – drew with Venezuela 0-0
GS2 – defeated Bolivia 3-1
GS3 – lost to Brazil 5-0
QF – drew with Uruguay 0-0 (won 5-4 in pens)

Prediction
It’s quite unique that Brazil and Peru will face off in the final despite being in the same group to start the tournament. Of course, Brazil finished on top and Peru third, but none of that means anything in the final. In saying that, Brazil absolutely pumped Peru 5-0 in their group stage meeting, which is something that will definitely be in the minds of the players on Monday morning.
We picked Brazil to take out the tournament before it begun, and we aren’t about to turn our back on them now. If you’re looking for a value play in this match, we believe that Brazil should cover the one goal handicap.
