We’re back to a regular nine match round for this weekend’s AFL, meaning the Saturday slate will include four fixtures. We’ve previewed them all below and provided our best bets. Good luck to everyone following!

AFL Round 15 Saturday Betting Tips
Hawthorn Hawks vs West Coast Eagles (1:45pm AEST, MCG)
The Hawks had their chances in Sydney last weekend but couldn’t manage to get over the line against their old rivals. Buddy Franklin really hurt the Hawks with four majors before going down with a hamstring injury, while Liam Shiels was arguably the best Hawk on the night with his 25 touches and 11 tackles. That loss saw them fall down to 12thspot on the ladder with a dismal 5-8 record for the year.
The Eagles looked to be at their devastating best in their Round 14 fixture, defeating the Bombers by 35 points and amassing 36 scoring shots. They controlled the flow of the match for its entirety and could have easily won by 60+ points had they converted their chances. Elliot Yeo was the best of the Eagles with his 25 touches, 12 tackles and one major. The Eagles are now inside the top four on the ladder with nine wins and four losses.
The Eagles will start this match as the favourites, which is thoroughly deserved on recent form. They look a much better side than the Hawks at the moment and should have no problem bringing their style of play to the MCG. Sydney Swans vs Gold Coast Suns (4:35pm AEST, SCG)
The Swans seem to have found their best footy of late and come into this match with the Suns with back-to-back wins under their belt. They were able to back up their impressive win over the Eagles with another good performance against the Hawks last weekend, defeating their rivals by 19 points at the SCG. They now have the luxury of staying home again this weekend as they host the lowly Suns.
The Suns started the season on fire with three wins from their first four matches and looked like a team that could genuinely make a push towards the finals. Since then, however, everything seems to have gone from bad to worse as they find themselves on a massive nine match losing streak.
The Swans will enter this at around six goal favourites, which we believe is actually a bit generous to the Suns on current form. The Swans are flying at the moment and will be desperate to keep the momentum going with a big win on Saturday.
Collingwood Magpies vs North Melbourne (7:25pm AEST, Marvel Stadium)
The Magpies managed to pull off another ugly win last weekend when they downed the Bulldogs by nine points at Marvel Stadium. It was a see-sawing affair that looked destined to finish as a Bulldogs victory, but credit to Collingwood for always finding a way to get it done. Brodie Grundy had his way with Tim English in the ruck for the second time this season, furthering his Brownlow credentials in the process. The Magpies are currently in second spot on the ladder with a 10-3 record.
North Melbourne were one of six teams to have the bye last weekend and will be hoping the freshener will play to their advantage on Saturday night. Prior to the week off the Kangaroos lost to the Giants by 23 points at Blundstone Arena in Tasmania. Ben Cunnington was unusually quiet in his 200thgame, losing the head-to-head battle with the now injured Matt de Boer.
No surprises here with the Magpies coming in as favourites over North Melbourne. The Pies are by far the better of the two teams and could potentially win this in a blowout if they hit their straps. North’s most recent performance showed signs that their honeymoon period is over with new coach Rhyce Shaw, which gives us even more confidence that a playing the Magpies line is the way to go in this fixture.

Port Adelaide Power vs Western Bulldogs (7:40pm AEST, Adelaide Oval)
What a win it was for Port Adelaide in Round 14. They were the underdogs at home to the Cats and for good reason, too. Coach Ken Hinkley made a statement at the selection table mid-week by dropping a couple of big-name players, which led some to believe they could cop a hiding. It wasn’t to be the case though, as the Power played inspired footy to lead the Cats at all changes. Port Adelaide’s finals hopes are alive and well as they currently sit in seventh spot on the ladder.
The Bulldogs are one of many teams that will be hoping for a much better second half of the season than they had in the first. At just 5-8 and in 15thspot on the ladder, the Dogs are in real trouble of seeing their finals chances shut out if they can’t find some serious momentum.
The Power come in as just three goal favourites despite being in the better form of the two clubs and holding the home ground advantage. If they can play anywhere near the level they did last time out, expect the Power to win this really comfortably.
