It’s a busy time of the year for the top soccer clubs in the English division, with plenty of Premier League and Champions League fixtures taking place in quick succession. Here, we take a look at this weekend’s English Premier League fixtures that make up Match Day 31 of the 2018-19 season. As always, good luck to everyone following!
EPL Betting Tips Match Day 31
West Ham United vs Huddersfield Town (Sunday 2am AEDT)
First up for Match Day 31 we’ve got the Hammers hosting the Terriers in an important game for both teams. They met earlier in the season in Huddersfield in a game that finished 1-1.
West Ham pretty much secured their place in next season’s top flight when they went on a four game winning streak before the New Year, but they haven’t rested on their laurels since, as they continue to tick over the win column and assert their position in the top half of the table.
On the other hand, Huddersfield have had a horrible season in England’s top flight and are destined to fall back to the Championship at seasons end. They’ve managed just three wins from 30 games, which is nowhere near good enough to retain a place in the EPL.
The Hammers enter this as $1.50 favourites, which is decent enough value if you’re chucking them in an accumulator. However, we’re taking it one step further and backing them in to win by 2+ goals at really juicy odds.
Fulham vs Liverpool (Monday 1:15am AEDT)
Second up for the weekend we’re making a play on the fixture featuring Fulham and Liverpool. These sides met earlier in the season at Anfield, which the Reds won by two goals to nil.
Much like Huddersfield, Fulham are also destined to drop back to the Championship at seasons end. They’ve had a really poor season all around with just four wins to their name thus far. Their Achilles heel all season has been their defence, where they’ve conceded a league worst 68 goals from 30 fixtures.
Meanwhile, Liverpool enter this after their heroic mid-week win triumph over Bayern Munich in the Champions League. That win really highlights how far they’ve come and how much better the Premier League has become in recent seasons. Liverpool also have a chance to regain first place in the EPL this weekend with City having a week off for Cup duties.
Anything but a Liverpool win here would shock, but there’s simply no value in that market. However, with Fulham’s defence being so leaky and Liverpool’s attackers seemingly back in form, we’re putting our money on the Reds to score 3+ goals here.

Everton vs Chelsea (Monday 3:30am AEDT)
The third and final game we’ve got a keen interest in is the Everton vs Chelsea fixture at Goodison Park. Their earlier match-up this season was played at Stamford Bridge and finished in as a scoreless draw.
Everton are going through a really rough patch at the moment and it only got worse last weekend when they fell to Newcastle 3-2 away. They’ve now lost nine of their last 14 games and just continue to slip down the table. They’re probably safe from the drop, but would love to finish off the season in better style.
Chelsea continue to be hit and miss like they’ve been pretty much all season. They were lucky to escape with a point at home to the Wolves last weekend and now have to hit the road where they’ve lost three of their last four games, conceding 13 goals in that span.
Both of these teams are far too inconsistent to be confident in backing, but we believe we’ve found some good value elsewhere. The last two times they’ve met have ended in 0-0 draws, and the two times before that Chelsea won to nil (2-0 and 3-0). Further, Chelsea are the lowest scoring of the big six (50 goals), while Everton have managed just 10 goals from their last 11 games. Simply put, we expect this to be a low scoring affair with either one or both teams failing to score.
