We had another great weekend with our A-League betting tips in Match Day 19, hitting on two of our three suggested plays. We kicked off proceedings with Newcastle Jets getting the job done against City at a juicy $2.28 price, before hitting on Perth Glory -1.5 against Roar, which ended 4-0 for a $1.93 winner. Unfortunately, Sydney FC couldn’t make it 3/3 for the round, but it was still another successful one for our followers. We now shift our focus to an action packed Match Day 20, where there’s plenty of value on offer. Good luck to everyone following!
A-League Week 20 Betting Tips
Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City (Saturday 7:50pm AEDT)
Our first play of the week comes from the Melbourne Derby, where Victory will host City at a packed house at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night. The last meeting between these teams was on the 23rd of December in a game that finished 1-1.
Melbourne Victory have had a really tough schedule over the past month. In their last five games they’ve played the in-form Phoenix twice, as well as Sydney FC once and league leaders Perth Glory once. They’ve come out of that stretch in good stead, holding on to their position in second on the ladder.
On the other hand, Melbourne City find themselves in some really poor form. They’ve picked up just one point from their past four games, and have won only one of their last seven. This stretch has them in a precarious position on the ladder with plenty of games remaining.
City may have had the better of Victory earlier in the season, but they’re playing like to completely different teams at the moment. Simply put, Victory should definitely win this and we’re happy to be on them at the $2.

Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United (Sunday 4pm AEDT)
Second up in our plays for Round 20 features the game between the Newcastle and Adelaide United. United came out on top the last time these teams met, defeating the Jets by two goals to one away from home.
The Jets had a horrible start to their 2018-19 campaign, but a recent turn in form has given them a legitimate chance of making a finals push. They’ve picked up three wins from their last five, including a win last time out against Melbourne City (3-1).
Meanwhile, Adelaide United’s five game unbeaten run came to disappointing end in their most recent outing where they lost at home to the Wanderers (1-3). It was arguably their worst loss of the season and now has them in a dangerous position if they continue on that path.
A few laughed at us when we said the Jets were a legitimate chance of winning at $5+ odds, but they weren’t laughing when they were up by two goals in quick succession. Now with a similar opponent again on their home deck, we’re going to be taking the Jets to get the job done once more.
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Perth Glory (Sunday 7pm AEDT)
Our final play from an exciting weekend comes from the Sunday night match where the Western Sydney Wanderers will host Post Glory. Glory came out on top in a seven goal thriller when they played the Wanderers a few weeks back, defeating them 4-3 at home.
The Wanderers had just two wins to their name through 17 fixtures, but have been able to turn their form around in their last two with back-to-back wins. It’s probably too little too late for the Wanderers, but at least they’re showing signs of improvement.
On the contrary, Perth Glory have been absolutely magnificent all season long. Some though that after their first (and only) loss this season that they’d slow down, but they’ve down the compete opposite. Glory have eight wins and two losses in their last 10 games and just continue to score goals at an impressive rate.
Week in and week out, the Bookies just continue to understate the form of Perth Glory. We’ve backed them in nearly every week and have only been let down a hand full of times. Near $2 against a poor Wanderers outfit is money for jam in our humble opinion.
