The stakes really couldn’t be much higher as we approach Match Day 27 of the 2018-19 English Premier League season. Both Manchester City and Liverpool are tied at the top of the table on 65 points, although the latter has a game in hand. There’s also the all-important relegation battle going on at the bottom of the table, with plenty of teams needing to pick up points to avoid the drop. As always, we’ve analysed all the fixtures and have come up with our three best bets for the round. Check them out below and good luck to everyone following!
EPL Match Day 27 Betting Tips
Cardiff City vs Watford (Saturday 6:45am AEDT)
First up in our best bets of the week features the game between Cardiff City and Watford. The Hornets are looking to make it 2/2 against the Bluebirds this season after defeating them by three goals to two at Vicarage Road in their earlier meeting.
The Bluebirds have managed back to back wins for the first time this season with wins against Bournemouth and most recently Southampton. Both are crucial wins, especially the latter which came against another side deep in the relegation battle. As it stands, Cardiff are one point clear of the drop.
The Hornets are coming off an impressive win of their own at home against the Toffees last time out. It was a much needed three points for Javi Gracia’s men to keep them inside the top half of the table.
Cardiff come into this with the 13th best home record, while Watford hold the ninth best road record. Both teams have been in similar form leading up to this match, but we give the edge to the Hornets here. They’ve got the superior squad and have the counter-attacking style that Cardiff have leaked goals against this season, including three in their earlier clash with the Hornets. We see Watford as great value here.
West Ham United vs Fulham (Saturday 6:45am AEDT)
Second up in our best bets of the week features the important contest between West Ham United and Fulham. The Hammers won the earlier meeting between these teams this season 2-0 at Craven Cottage.
The Hammers have just one win in their last five matches (def Arsenal at home 1-0), but they’ve had a really tough schedule with three away fixtures in their last four. All in all, it’s been a relatively stress-free season for the Hammers who sit in 10th spot on the table.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers find themselves in a whole lot of trouble in their quest to stay in England’s top flight. They’re currently eight points inside the drop zone and have won just four of their 26 games this season.
West Ham enter this fixture with the 12th best home record, which isn’t all that great. However, they come up against the worst road team in the league in Fulham, who have picked up just two points from 13 away fixtures this season. We’d be shocked if anything other than a West Ham win transpired in this one.

Newcastle United vs Huddersfield Town (Sunday 2am AEDT)
The third and final game we’ve taken a keen interest in this week is Newcastle United vs Huddersfield Town. The Magpies won the first meeting between these teams 1-0 at John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield.
The Magpies enter this in some pretty solid form with seven points picked up in their last five. During that span they’ve lost a respectable 2-1 to Chelsea, 1-0 to Tottenham, drawn 1-1 away at Wolves, defeated Cardiff, and defeated the defending champions in Manchester City. This stretch has seen them climb out of the bottom three and into 16th spot on the table.
On the other hand, Huddersfield are in despicable form and are absolutely destined for relegations. They’ve picked up just ONE point from their last 13 Premier League fixtures in what has been a torrid campaign all around for the Terriers.
Once again, we’re going to take the home team in a game we expect to be one sided. Whilst Newcastle haven’t been the greatest home team this season with four wins from 13 fixtures, they come up against a Huddersfield unit that has managed just six points on the road all season. Simply put, we’re more than happy to back the Magpies at home against the worst team in the league.
