Penrith Panthers Vs Melbourne Storm
Where: SportingBet Stadium
When: Monday, August 25th at 7:00pm AEST
With a couple of upsets this weekend, the Panthers have an opportunity to steal second, if not first (38+ Point win), on the ladder. Storm, on the other hand, is firmly in the 8, looking to move as high as 5th place,
Previously these teams have met 27 times, Storm being victorious a dominating 20 times.
Storm won their last encounter during round 2 this year, winning 18-17 in a nail bitter.
Last week we saw the Panthers snatch victory from the Cowboys in the final seconds with a field goal from Fullback Matt Moylan. Storm just tormented the Cronulla Sharks 48-6.
Penrith have gathered some momentum during the last few week, despite a growing injury list, with players like Jamie Soward and Matt Moylan Playing in career best form they have been able to steer the team over the line. Last week Soward was the leading try scorer notching up two tries moving the ball 101 metres. But last week wasn't all good, with the Panthers losing Both David Simmons and Isaah Yeo to injury. Ex-Storm backrower Sika Manu will be playing his second game since moving to the Panthers at the end of 2012.
Storm ‘Big 4’???
Slater, Cronk and Smith, for years they've been the ‘BIG 3’. but as they are in the latter half of their careers, Storm fans everywhere have been wondering who of the team’s rising stars would step up… introducing Jesse Bromwich, Last week he ran 227 metres, made 26 tackles and topped it all off with a try. Will Chambers and Sisi Waqa had relatively quiet weeks, but Penrith shouldn't underestimate the strength of the Storm’s right side attack. Ryan Hinchcliffe returns from injury moving young gun Jordan Mclean to the bench.
This week is simple, if storm can shut down Jamie Soward, his limited impact on the game will all but guarantee Melbourne the victory. Should be a competitive game, but I think Storm will get the win.
Bet On: Melbourne Storm 1-12 - $3.10
