Unfortunately we just went one out of three on our best EPL betting tips last weekend, which put an end to a string of positive weeks. There were quite a few unlucky results that went against us, but we’re not going to dwell on them as there’s another weekend of action upon us shortly! Good luck to everyone following our EPL betting tips this weekend.
EPL Week 23 Betting Tips
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City (Saturday 11:30pm AEDT)
The first game of the round sees the Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Leicester City at Molineux Stadium. Leicester won the first meeting between these teams this season, defeating the Wolves at home by two goals to nil.
The Wolves haven’t had the best of form as they come into this game, but they’ve had some really tough fixtures over their last five. They’ve played each of the top three teams in that stretch, beating Tottenham and losing to both Liverpool and Manchester City. Their poor results in recent times has them dropping down to 11th on the ladder, but they’ve got a great run coming up that should see them make a jump.
The Foxes enter this game coming off a really disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Southampton last weekend. It was a game they definitely should’ve got something out of, but will be one they look back on at seasons end. They’re currently in eighth spot and are now 10 points outside the top six.
Neither team has been in great form heading into this important fixture, but we do favour the Wolves at home. They’ve been the giant killers all season and raise their level against quality teams – which Leicester certainly are. Anything above $2 at home represents value for the Wolves in this one.
Newcastle United vs Cardiff City (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Second up in our plays for the round features the Newcastle United vs Cardiff City clash. The first meeting between these teams ended in 0-0 draw at Cardiff City Stadium. This will be the second and final meeting for the season.
Newcastle United certainly haven’t had the best form leading up to this fixture, but they’ve had a very tough run of games. They’ve had to face Chelsea, Manchester United, Watford, and Liverpool in their last four, and have only picked up a single point from that stretch. This has seen them fall to 18th on the table and deep inside the relegation battle.
Meanwhile, Cardiff City are in a very similar position to their opponents here and are just one position above them on the ladder. They come into this with only a handful of points on the road this season and will need to turn their season around quickly if they’re to survive the drop.
Even though these teams are similarly placed, we believe that Newcastle have the edge here. They’ve been competitive enough against the top teams in recent weeks and have had decent success against teams in and around their position. We feel that $2 at home is strong value.
Manchester United vs Brighton and Hove Albion (Sunday 2am AEDT)
The third and final game we’re making a play on this weekend is Manchester United vs Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford. Surprisingly, Brighton won the first encounter at home by a margin of 3-2.
Manchester United have been the form team of the competition since starting with their new manager. They’ve won each of their past five games and look full of confidence with the way they’re playing. They’ve improved their record to 12-5-5 on the season and are making a serious push towards the top four.
On the other hand, Brighton have been in poor form and have won just one of their last seven games. It’s been a disappointing stretch for a team that showed a lot of promise earlier on in the season, but they now find themselves battling to stay out of the relegation battle.
Once again, we’re going with the home team to get the chocolates here. However, with little to no value on the moneyline, we’ve opted to take United at -1.5 as we believe they’ll win this comfortably.
Manchester United -1.5
