A-League Week 13 Betting Tips
Melbourne City vs Brisbane Roar (Friday 7:50pm AEDT)
The Friday night fixture in Week 13 sees Melbourne City hosting Brisbane Roar. This will be the second of three meetings between these teams this season. Brisbane Roar stunned City in their first clash, defeating the Sky Blues by two goals to nil at home.
Melbourne City have found some really nice form over the past couple of weeks, winning three and drawing one in their last four games. Their most recent outing was an impressive 2-1 victory over the Jets, where they came from behind to win. City’s recent form has propelled them into fourth position in the standings with a game in hand.
Brisbane Roar continue to struggle this season and are now the owners of a 1-4-7 record and second last position on the ladder. Their most recent game was against Perth where they led 2-0 at half time, only to give up a whopping four goals in the second half to go down 4-2.
We expect this to be a straight forward home win for Melbourne City here. They’ve got the form, the talent, and the home advantage, and are coming up against a really poor Roar outfit. City by 2+ looks the value play.
Melbourne City -1.5

Wellington Phoenix vs Central Coast Mariners (Saturday 5:35pm AEDT)
The second game of the round has Wellington Phoenix playing hosts to the Central Coast Mariners. Again, this will be the second of three meetings for these sides this season. The first match-up ended in a 2-0 home win to Phoenix.
Wellington Phoenix have been on a hell of a run over the past month, winning four and drawing their of their past seven games. They’ve got the longest current unbeaten streak in the league and have jumped up to sixth spot in the standings and into the finals picture.
The Central Coast Mariners have been by far the most disappointing team of the season so far. They’ve managed to grab just two points from their 11 games so far this campaign and look like they’re destined to finish bottom of the league.
Much like the game above, we expect Phoenix to be far too good for the Mariners at home. They’re absolutely flying at the moment and have every chance of winning this by a big margin.
Wellington Phoenix -1.5

Sydney FC vs Adelaide United (Sunday 6pm AEDT)
Our third and final play of the week features Sydney FC hosting Adelaide United in what looms as the match of the round. These teams met really early on in the season and played out a 1-1 draw in Adelaide.
Sydney FC were on the wrong end of a 3-1 result against Perth Glory in their most game. Despite the result, they’ve still been in good enough form to suggest they’re going to be contending for the title when push comes to shove. They’re currently in third spot on the table and are only goal difference behind Melbourne Victory in second.
Meanwhile, Adelaide United are coming off a 2-0 win against reigning champions Melbourne Victory in their most recent match. They’ve not lived up to all the pre-season hype as of yet, but there’s still plenty of time for them to make their move to the top of the ladder. As it stands, they’re in fifth spot with a 5-4-3 record.
We’re making it 3/3 for plays on home teams this weekend as we’re backing in Sydney FC in this one. They’ve built their stadium into a fortress over the past couple of seasons and are at great value to get a win at home here.
