Wests Tigers Vs. Melbourne Storm
Where: Campbelltown Sports Stadium
When: Monday, August 4th at 7:00pm AEST
Round 16 of 2013 was the last time these two teams faced off. The Wests Tigers convincingly defeated the Storm 22-4. This clash is the 25th time these teams have met on the field, with Storm winning more than 50% of their encounters. Storm have 15 victories to the 9 for the Wests Tigers.
The Tigers are melting down. Their coach is clinging on for dear life. Captain Robbie Farrah questioned the coach’s skills and then missed training this week. It’s not looking good. Luke Brooks is questionable with a possible shoulder injury. The Tigers are arguably playing this one for former player Simon Dwyer, who is still recovering from the nerve injury that abruptly ended his immediate career in 2011.
Storm, on the other hand, is kicking it up a gear, trying to cement their spot in the finals. They cleaned up the Broncos last week and with the same line up this week, it’s expected they'll do the same to the Tigers. Basically, with the ‘Big3’ back in full form the Storm look too good for the Tigers. They’ll be tough to overcome. Storm is looking for their third consecutive, which hasn’t happened this season since round 3.
The Tigers will attempt to build off the Simon Dwyer emotions, and to leave their off field dramas behind, but we don't think it will be enough. The Storm know how to win and we’re not expecting anything different on this Monday night.
Bet on: Storm at the line (-8.5) - $1.95
