The EPL has been in full flight over the Christmas/New Year period and we will be treated to yet another mid-week slate this week to celebrate the start of 2019! We takea look at some of the key games in Day 21 of the EPL season and give our betting tips below.
EPL Week 21 Betting Tips
Everton vs Leicester City (Tuesday 11.30pm AEDT)
Everton started the season a little inconsistency, winning just one of their first six games. They have picked up the pace a touch and currently maintain a 7-6-7 record on the season and sit in 10th place on the table. The run for Everton gets considerably easier from here, however, as they have no games against big six clubs over the next six games.
Leicester City currently sit in 8th place on the EPL table with an 8-4-8 record. They were fantastic over a two week stretch in Round 18 and 19 of the season, beating Chelsea and Manchester City in back to back games but were disappointing on the weekend against Cardiff City, going down 1-0 at home. They have struggled to find consistent offence this season, slotting just 24 goals through 20 games, the second fewest of any team in the top 12.
Everton have won four of their last five Premier League games against Leicester while Leicester have won on just one of their 12 previous trips to Goodison Park in the Premier League. The Toffees start as strong favourites here but they have lost three of their last four games while Leicester are two weeks removed from a great win at Stamford Bridge. We think the Foxes are great value here.

Chelsea vs Southampton (Thursday 6.45am AEDT)
Chelsea have dropped uncharacteristic games against Wolverhampton, Tottenham and Leicester over the last month but have bounced back to win their last two games against Watford and Crystal Palace respectively. They currently sit fourth on the EPL table with a 13-4-3 record but sit 11 points behind Liverpool in first place.
Southampton have been one of the more disappointing teams of the season and currently hold just a 3-6-11 record, sitting in 17th place on the EPL table. They have lost their last two games in a row to West Ham and Manchester City respectively and are outside of the relegation zone on goal difference alone.
Chelsea have won each of their last seven games against Southampton in all competitions and have scored 2+ goals in all seven of those games. Chelsea have displayed one of the more dominant home streaks over Southampton in recent times, with 11 wins and 5 draws through their last 19 home games against the Saints. Chelsea should be too strong here.
Manchester City vs Liverpool (Friday 7am AEDT)
The game of the round sees the two top teams in the league in Liverpool and Manchester City going head to head. After going the first 15 games of the season without losing, Manchester City have gone on to lose three of their last five games and now sit seven points behind Liverpool. Two of the losses were uncharacteristic for Manchester City as they dropped home games to both Crystal Palace and Leicester before bouncing back against Southampton on the weekend.
Liverpool are still undefeated through 20 games so far this season and have won their last nine games in a row going back to a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in early November. Liverpool and Manchester City met earlier in the season and played out a 0-0 draw, which was the first time in the past five games between the two teams that has resulted in under 3 total goals.
Manchester City have a poor record against Liverpool, winning just one of their last 11 meetings against the Reds in all competitions. Liverpool have looked unstoppable so far this season and start as underdogs away from home this Friday morning. We think they are a great double chance bet here.
