We went 2/3 in our EPL betting tips last weekend. We hit on Liverpool -1.5 at juicy odds, as well as Chelsea vs City under 2.5 goals, but had Everton to beat Watford, which ended in a draw. We now shift our focus to this weekend’s action, which is Match Day 17. We provide previews and our best betting tips below and as always, good luck to everyone following!
EPL Week 17 Betting Tips
Wolverhampton vs Bournemouth (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Our first tip of the weekend is on during the Sunday morning slate featuring the Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth. The Wolves come into this in some solid form, having won their last two games against Chelsea and Newcastle, respectively. The two game win streak has propelled them to ninth position on the table, which is a fantastic result for a newly promoted side.
Meanwhile, the Cherries have lost five of their last six Premier League matches, with their latest being a 4-0 defeat at home to Liverpool last weekend. It’s a disappointing turn of form for the Cherries, who were right in the mix for a top six position after the first dozen games this season. Despite their form, they’re still currently in eighth position on the table, but will need to get some serious form going to avoid further slippage.
It’s not the most exciting game of the week, but we feel there’s great value in a Wolves win here. They started the season off strong, before falling into a bit of a hole, but have since returned with two impressive wins. We think they keep their streak going with another win here against an out of form Bournemouth outfit.
Southampton vs Arsenal (Monday 12:30am AEDT)
The second game we’ve taken a liking to this week is the duel between Southampton and Arsenal on Monday morning at 12:30am (AEDT). Southampton have struggled mightily this season and look like being right amongst the battle of relegation as it stands. They’ve won just one game in 16 tries this season, which is the lowest of any team in the league. Their most recent game was a 1-0 loss to Cardiff on the road last weekend.
On the other hand, Arsenal are an amazing 22 games undefeated in all competitions at the moment and are coming off a workmanlike 1-0 victory against Huddersfield last weekend. It’s been a terrific turn around for Arsenal, who got off to a really poor start to their campaign. They now find themselves in fifth position on the table and only two points from their rivals Tottenham in third.
We’re surprised to see Arsenal priced at nearly even odds in this one when you consider the form of both teams. The Gunners have been able to travel to opposing teams grounds and get results lately, and we don’t see why it’ll be any different against the lowly Southampton.
Liverpool vs Manchester United (Monday 3am AEDT)
The match of the round takes place at the early hours of Monday morning with Liverpool taking on Manchester United at Anfield. Liverpool won their last game against Bournemouth by four goals to nil, just hours before Chelsea defeated Manchester City, which gifted the Reds top position on the table. It’s been an exceptional season for Liverpool, as they remain the only team undefeated.
Manchester United got back onto the winners list last weekend with an emphatic 4-1 win over Fulham. It was a much needed win for the Red Devils, who hold their spot in sixth on the league table. They currently have an away record of 3-2-3 for the season, which is in severe danger of becoming 3-2-4 unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat on Monday morning.
If Liverpool play anywhere near the level they’ve been playing this season then they really should win this one easily. Manchester United are a shell of their former selves and have struggled to get any result from the top 6 in recent times. We expect this trend to continue.
