EPL Match Day 14 Betting Tips
Newcastle vs West Ham (Sunday 2am AEDT)
After a nightmare start to their 2018-19 campaign, Newcastle United have completely turned their season around. Through 10 games they had managed just three points (all draws) and looked like a lock for a season long relegation battle. However, in their last three games they have defeated Watford (1-0) and Bournemouth (2-1) at home and Burnley (2-1) away in their last outing. This string of games now has them in 13th position with their focus now on entering the top half of the table.
Meanwhile, West Ham United have sort of had the opposite start to the season in comparison to Newcastle. They had a solid start, snagging wins over Everton and Manchester United, but have since fallen into a slump. They’ve won just one of their last seven games and are coming off a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester United. The Hammers are currently in 14th position on the table and only goal difference behind Newcastle.
We love the form of Newcastle and the spirit they’re playing with. At home, it’s hard to see them dropping points to West Ham in this one. We’re happy to back them in at solid odds.
Arsenal vs Tottenham (Monday 1:05am AEDT)
The first of two massive rivalry matches on Sunday morning is the match-up between Arsenal and Tottenham at the Emirates. The Gunners have been really solid lately and are showing a form of resiliency that we haven’t seen from them in recent years. They’re now 17 games undefeated in all competitions and have climbed their way up to 13th position on the ladder and only one point behind Chelsea in fourth.
On the other hand, their rivals Tottenham Hotspur have quietly put together yet another stellar season and are now in third position on the table and only five points behind Manchester City in first. They’ve won 10 of their 13 matches this season and have won six on the spin in all competitions. Their most recent Premier League match was a 3-1 win over Chelsea, which was the Blues first loss in the EPL this season.
The Gunners may be 17 games undefeated, but they’ve been extremely lucky in a few cases. They’re yet to lead at half time in any EPL game this season, which is a concern. We expect the Spurs to be quick out of the blocks here and put in a winning performance on enemy territory.
Liverpool vs Everton (Monday 3:15am AEDT)
The second derby at the early hours on Monday morning is the Merseyside rivalry between Liverpool and Everton. The Reds Premier League campaign remains unblemished after 13 games, where they’ve amassed 10 wins and three draws in the process. They’re coming off a disappointing 2-1 loss to PSG in the Champions League midweek and will be looking to bounce back strong at home here.
Everton are one of the form teams in the competition at the moment, having won five of their last seven league fixtures. They’re now positioned in sixth on the table and have their sites on a top four spot if they can keep up their impressive form. Their most recent outing was a business-like performance against Cardiff, where they won 1-0.
Although Everton have been in handy form, Liverpool are far superior to the competition they’ve been facing lately. At home, we have the Reds being too strong and banging in 3+ goals on their way to a comfortable win.
Liverpool -1.5 Handicap
