With the International break over, it’s time for the Super Rugby season to continue. Round 17 of the 2018 Super Rugby season starts this Friday and we have you covered with our Super Rugby betting tips for every match.
Super Rugby Round 17 Betting Tips
Blues vs Reds (Friday, Jun 29 5:35pm AEST)
The Round begins at Eden Park as two of the poorer sides of Super Rugby meet. The Blues are 3-10 on the season and will be aiming for their first win at home this Friday. They’ve recorded a 0-7 record at Eden Park and should be desperate to break through this time. The Reds aren’t much better when it comes to travelling. They’re 1-6 in away games and overall, they’ve won just 2 of their last 10. The main problem for both sides is scoring points. They rank 14th (Blues) and 15th (last) for points scored per game this season. But considering the Blues home form, the 10.5 point line on offer seems generous. The Reds last game at this venue was a gallant 34-29 loss and the last 2 overall meetings have been close.
Reds Handicap (+10.5)

Rebels vs Waratahs (Friday, Jun 29 7:45pm AEST)
The Rebels are set to take on the Waratahs at AAMI Park in their Australian rivalry matchup on Friday. Both sides have won 7 games this season so this is a crucial matchup in the Australian conference. Before the break, both sides also recorded 2 straight wins. The Rebels went to NZ and beat the Blues by 10 points. The Waratahs knocked up 52 points on the Reds and 41 points previously against the Highlanders. So the trend for the Waratahs has been high scoring this season. Which they’ve also enjoyed against the Rebels. In the last 2 meetings, they’ve scored 51 and 50 points in big wins. They also enjoy playing at AAMI Park with 5 wins from 6. So I can’t see the Rebels containing this Waratahs attack.
Highlanders vs Chiefs (Saturday, Jun 30 5:35pm AEST)
The Super Rugby action continues with the 9-4 Highlanders up against the 8-5 Chiefs at ANZ National Stadium, Suva in this clash. The Chiefs are 1-3 in their last 4 and the Highlanders are 3-1. So the Highlanders are looking the form side. They also thrashed the high flying Hurricanes before the break, 30-14. But a neutral venue should even up this contest. Since 2010, they’re both won 8 games against each other. In 2018, they met in late March and the Chiefs just won 27-22. So this is a tough game to pick with both sides desperate for victory. In the end, either team to win by under 8.5 points seems like the safe bet.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes (Saturday, Jun 30 7:45pm AEST)
The Brumbies host the Hurricanes at GIO Stadium on Saturday. In the last 2 meetings, the Hurricanes have crushed the Canberra side. In 2017, they scored a combined total of 91 points to 37 conceded. So I doubt much will change in 2018. The Brumbies have a losing record at home this season (3-4) and will likely struggle to contain the Hurricanes attack. The NZ side is scoring just over 30 points per game and will enjoy facing the Brumbies lacking defence at times. Before the break, the Hurricanes went 8-2 with 2 losses to the Crusaders and Highlanders, two tough teams. So the Hurricanes should win this and well. They’ve won by 13+ at 38% this season and I’ll take that bet on here.

Sunwolves vs Bulls (Saturday, Jun 30 9:55pm AEST)
The Sunwolves host the Bulls at Singapore National Stadium on Saturday. The Japanese side went 0-3 here last season but they should get an opportunity against the Bulls. They beat them 21-20 in 2017 and have been playing improved Rugby before the break. They beat the Stormers in a thriller and came within 10 points of the Brumbies in Canberra. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 0-4 in their last 4 overall games and have won just 1 of 6 on the road this season. So Sunwolves at the underdog line is worth a bet here.
Sunwolves Handicap (+8.5
$1.89
Sharks vs Lions (Sunday, Jul 1 1:15am AEST)
The Lions head south this week to Durban as they face the Sharks at Growthpoint Kings Park. After 7 straight wins over the Sharks, the Lions will favoured to make 8. The two sides met in February to kick off the season and the Lions went onto to win 26-19 on their home turf. They’ve also won the last 2 in Durban by 13+. The key will be the Lions attack against the Sharks defence. The away side is ranked 1st in Super Rugby for points scored and 2nd went playing on the road. So Lions at the line due to their record over the Sharks at this venue.
Lions Handicap (-3.5)
$1.91
Jaguares vs Stormers (Sunday, Jul 1 5:40am AEST)
Round 17 ends with the red-hot Jaguares looking for their 6th straight win. Before the break, they were playing impressive Rugby so hopefully that continues for them against the Stormers. They went 8-2 in their last 10 as well and easily beat the Sharks and Bulls before the break. At 8-5 on the season, this is also a key game for their finals position. The Stormers have been disappointing this season with a 5-9 record. They also haven’t tasted a win on the road in 2018 with 7 straight defeats. They do enjoy playing the Jags. They’ve met on 3 occasions in Super Rugby and the Stormers are 3-0, including a 13-8 win at this venue in 2016. However, the difference in 2018 is their poor away form. They’re conceding 35 points per game and will face a tough challenge against the Jaguares offence. They’ve scored 20+ points in their 5 straight wins. So I can’t see the Stormers getting within the line.
Jaguares Handicap (-7.5)
