2014 NBA Finals Game 3 - San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat
Where: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
When: Wednesday 11th June , 11:00am AEST
If the first two games are anything to go by then strap yourself in because this finals series could be going all the way to game seven.
Miami tied the series at one a piece on Monday. This was thanks to an extraordinary effort by LeBron James who had 35 points with 10 rebounds and a perfect 3/3 from 3 point land. James was criticised for leaving the fourth quarter in game one due to cramping however he quickly silenced those critics with his performance on Monday. Unfortunately I believe this is what Miami will need in every game from here on out to win the championship and it’s unlikely we can see these kind of beastly numbers from James every time.
These two teams are so evenly matched it is going to come down too sheer willpower to decide a champion. Will it be the Spurs trio of Duncan, Parker and Ginobili that have the mental toughness or will Miami’s trio of James, Wade and Bosh win their third straight title?
Personally I am leaning towards San Antonio for the championship, but also believe it is arguably positive EV to take the team with points in each single game. Listen to this interesting stat too – the NBA finals have been tied at 1-1 on 36 separate occasions and 30 of those times, the winner of game three has gone on to win the title. Taking the Spurs at the line in Game 3.
