Unfortunately, we hit on just 1 of 3 tips in last week’s EPL betting tips as Manchester United stormed home against Manchester City to hand us our only victory. We’ll be looking to improve on that this weekend as we take a look at some of the key games in Week 34 of the EPL and give our best bets below.
Southampton vs Chelsea (Saturday 9.30pm AEST)
Chelsea could only manage a 1-1 draw against West Ham at home last weekend and are now well behind the top four, currently sitting 10 points behind Tottenham in fourth place. The Blues have won just three of their last ten games and have scored just 54 goals on the season so far which is by far the lowest tally of any of the top six clubs.
Southampton are right amongst the relegation race, currently sitting in 18th place on the table. They are three points behind Crystal Palace and will need a strong finish to the season to make sure they stay in the EPL for another season.
The Saints have lost their last four games in a row and have won just one of their last ten. They have won just one of their last nine Premier League games against Chelsea at St. Mary’s Stadium. Their last win at home against Chelsea came all the way back in 2013. With the current form both teams are in, it’s hard to pick a winner, but we think Southampton’s desire to stay in top flight and Chelsea’s lack of motivation makes the Saints value at home.

Tottenham vs Manchester City (Sunday 4.45am AEST)
The game of the round sees table leaders Manchester City face off against Tottenham on Sunday morning. Tottenham have been in great form recently, winning their last six games in a row and going undefeated throughout their last 10. They currently sit level with Liverpool on points and can jump into 3rd spot on the table with a win here.
Manchester City are in the enviable position of being able to wrap up the League title with a win this weekend. They were odds on to do so last weekend against Manchester United but after being 2-0 up, allowed three late goals to put off their celebrations temporarily. Something extraordinary would have to happen from here for Manchester City to lose the title, but after a hectic schedule over the past few weeks, this could be another tough game.
It will be City’s fourth game in 14 days when they meet Tottenham and given their recent shaky run of form, it could get the better of them here. Tottenham have won their last two home Premier League games against Manchester City and the Citizens have beaten the Spurs in just one of their last five games.
TIP: Tottenham to win (draw no bet) - $1.81 at Ladbrokes
Newcastle vs Arsenal (Sunday 10.30pm AEST)
After a shaky start to the season and being in danger of relegation a few months ago, Newcastle have had a great run recently, winning four of their last ten and losing just two in theat span to now sit 10th on the table with 38 points. They have three great wins in a row over the past three games but have a tough run with Arsenal and Tottenham still to come.
Arsenal have also won their last three games after losing three in a row. They remain in the Europa League and will have an important mid-week clash against CSKA Moscow to prepare for along with their Newcastle clash.
Tough game to call here, both teams have been in great form, but Newcastle will have the home field advantage and the benefit of not having to play the mid-week clash. Newcastle have lost every one of their last 10 games against Arsenal, but we think that changes this week.
TIP: Newcastle double chance - $1.67 at Sportsbet
