2018 AFL: Daily Fantasy Tips for Round 2

March 30th 2018, 11:49am, By: andyrosos

AFL Fantasy Tips

There’s some great daily fantasy tournaments at PlayON and Moneyball this weekend! Saturday in particular features some great guaranteed feature prize pools and also a bunch of qualifier tickets into the monster $100k AFL super contest in August at PlayON.

We are back this week with another Moneyball team of the week for the Saturday slate! Note: our tips can be converted to other DFS sites easily.

Defenders: Kade Simpson, Sam Murray

Simpson was the pick of the defenders last weekend, racking up 129 points against the Tigers and gets another good matchup here against the Blues at the MCG. Weather plays an important part in the defender ability to rack up uncontested possessions across half back and Saturday looks to be a good one in Melbourne. With no Docherty and no Gibbs for the Blues in 2018, Simpson has all the opportunity in the world.

Sam Murray has played fantastic in his two games in 2018. His only JLT Series game saw him rack up 24 touches and 93 points across half back while in Round 1 he was arguably the best of the rookie defenders with 76 points and 19 touches. Plays the Giants this weekend so the ball should be down his end of the ground the majority of the time.

Midfielders: Dayne Zorko, Nat Fyfe, Nick Holman, Cameron Rayner

Both Zorko and Fyfe had tough starts to the 2018 season away from home. Zorko was battling a niggle throughout the Saints game while Fyfe had the unpleasant task of facing the Power in Port Adelaide. They both return home this weekend where they regularly become completely different players, Zorko in particular. He had 125 against Melbourne last year so could be on for another big score at the GABBA.

Holman was the complete pick of the rookies in week one, racking up 89 points in the Gold Coast’s win over North Melbourne up north. Cameron Rayner wasn’t ultra impressive against the Saints but will continue to get a good opportunity in the forward line and returns home this weekend. Both great value picks.

Forwards: Tom Lynch, Bailey Fritsch

The fact that Tom Lynch was able to accumulate 74 points as a tall forward in torrential rain last week is amazing in itself. In comparison, his counterpart Ben Brown could only muster 24 points, so in what should be perfect conditions in Melbourne, we think Lynch could be impressive this week against the Blues.

Fritsch is the value option up forward this week. Plays in Brisbane in what is forcasted to be a wet game. Small forwards thrive in the wet which is another reason why we like Cameron Rayner this weekend. Fritsch was impressive in Round 1 with 74 points and if we can get that production from him again it would be great.

Ruck: Jarrod Witts

Witts had a monster performance last weekend in the wet game against North Melbourne. He racked up a monster 140 points on Moneyball and while most of them came from quick kicks out of the ruck due to the wet weather, we still think he should have a big influence this weekend against an injured Matt Kreuzer.
