Unfortunately, we hit on just 1 of 3 tips in the midweek round of EPL this week. We’ll be looking to bounce back in a big way as we preview some of the key games in Week 26 of the EPL season, set to be played from Saturday-Tuesday morning.
EPL Week 26 Betting Tips
Burnley vs Manchester City (Saturday 11.30pm AEDT)
After their first loss of the season to Liverpool a few weeks ago, Manchester City have bounced back to defeat Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion in the last two games. They have slotted six goals in those two games, but will get a tougher test this weekend as they face 7th placed Burnley at Turf Moor in the early Saturday night game.
Burnley sit just one point clear of Leicester and will be looking to hold onto their 7th place on the table in an attempt to qualify for next season’s Europa League. They have won just two of their last 10 EPL games and haven’t won a game in their last nine in all competitions.
The way that Burnley are playing at the moment we cant see them being competitive with the might of Manchester City, even at home. City have covered the -1 goal line in both of their last two games, and their +55 goal difference on the season so far makes us think they can do it again here.
TIP: Manchester City -1 - $1.80 at Sportsbet
Arsenal vs Everton (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)
Everton secured a great win over Leicester City in the midweek round to stay relevant in the hunt for a Europa League berth. They currently sit 9th on the table with 31 points through 25 games, but have a -12 goal difference, which is the worst of any team in the top 12. They have won just three of their last 10 games and lost three in a row, albeit to Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham before their win over Leicester.
After holding a position in the top four for the majority of the first half of the season, Arsenal have fallen away dramatically of late, and now sit in sixth place, 8 points behind Chelsea in fourth place. They have won just three of their last 10 EPL fixtures and suffered a terrible defeat at the hands of Swansea in the midweek round.
Should be an interesting clash here as both sides are really looking to turn their season back around. Everton start as massive underdogs away from home here at $12, which we think is just way too high considering the way Arsenal have been playing of late. We’ll take the value here and back Everton in the double chance market.
TIP: Everton (win and draw) - $3.75 at Sportsbet
Liverpool vs Tottenham (Monday 3.30am AEDT)
What an inconsistent few weeks its been for Liverpool. After becoming the first team to beat Manchester City in the EPL in over a year, the Reds went on to lose to bottom of the table Swansea the very next game before then being knocked out of the FA Cup be West Bromwich Albion last weekend. They bounced back in the midweek round, defeating Huddersfield away from home 3-0, but will get a really tough test here as they host Tottenham, who have been on fire of late.
The Spurs have lost just one game in their last 10 EPL fixtures, as the return of Harry Kane from injury sparked Tottenham to life. They now sit just two points behind Chelsea in fourth place and will be hunting a return to the Champions League next season. Their 6-3-1 record in their last ten games highlights their rock solid defence and after a dominant performance by Kane in that period, he now leads the Golden Boot tally with 21.
Really tough to pick a winner here so we’ll stay away from that. One thing that is certain, however, is Liverpool’s ability to score goals. They have scored 57 on the season so far, second to only Manchester City, while allowing 29, which is the most of any team in the top five. Back this to be a high scoring contest as Liverpool vs Manchester City was a few weeks back.
TIP: Total Goals OVER 3.5 - $2.50 at Ladbrokes
