AFL Daily Fantasy Team of the Week – Round 20
Forwards
Jeremy McGovern
McGovern has been solid over the past two weeks with scores of 81 and 86. There’s a strong theme involving the Saints and Eagles game in this team as we think it will be a high scoring game between the two teams. McGovern scored 82 points the last time the two teams met which would be good again here.
James Sicily
The Hawthorn defender has been massive over the past two weeks. He has taken 11 and 14 marks respectively for two scores over 100. Has become one of the best intercept mark players in the game and should get plenty more opportunities this weekend with the smallish Tigers forward line.
Midfielders
Luke Dunstan
Remember when Clinton Jones had a fantasy outburst for the Saints a few years ago? The same thing seems to be happening to Luke Dunstan at the moment. Both players are more known for their tagging and hard ball winning ability, but Dunstan seems to have developed some accumulating skills over the past few weeks with 29 and 27 disposals. Has been over 100 fantasy points in those games and is still cheap at $12,100.
Shaun Grigg
Has been the master of the up and down games this season so far. Scores in the 60s surrounded by scores over 110 makes for not the most ideal fantasy player, however, the Hawks have been the easiest team to score on throughout the year so we like a big one out of Grigg here.
Andrew Gaff
Two scores under 100 in the last two weeks has rendered a pretty significant price drop from Gaff. At just $13,500 is now one of the cheapest players averaging over 100 for the season. Still had 30 touches last week and is still an absolute ball magnet, throw a few tackles in this game and he should be back over the 100 mark.
Sam Mitchell
The Saints-Eagles stack in full effect here as we look to Sam Mitchell to fill the final midfielder spot. Scored 101 last weekend to bounce back from a few scores in the 70s. has still only had under 25 touches on three occasions this season so definitely still has the accumulating capabilities.
Defenders
Alex Keath
The cricketer turned footballer will suit up for his third game on Sunday against the Power after having scores of 38 and 41 in his first two. Not expecting much but as a value pick at $6,400, if he can continue to rise in scores and reach 60 it will be worth it.
David Astbury
Scored 85 against the Suns last weekend and gets the favourable matchup this round against the Hawks. While he has been extremely hit and miss this year, at just $9,350 is another cheap option who has the potential to score well.
Ruck
Billy Longer
Has been great since taking over the number one ruck role at the Saints, averaging 86 in his last 3 games. Has a good matchup against the the Eagles who will be playing Nathan Vardy and Drew Petrie as their rucks. Should dominate.
