2016-17 EPL: Week 30 Preview & Betting Tips

March 30th 2017, 1:08pm, By: andyrosos

After an interrupted last month through FA Cup and international breaks, we are finally back to regular programming in the EPL for the foreseeable future, and with the title race starting to heat up, it comes at a perfect time. We went 4-1 in our last edition of EPL tips so we’ll be looking to back it up with a similar performance this week. Week 30 kicks off Saturday night with a massive clash between Liverpool and Everton, we preview the game as well as some other key games below.

EPL Week 30 Betting Tips

Liverpool vs Everton (Saturday 10.30pm AEDT)

The Merseyside Derby kicks off a massive round of EPL as Everton travel to Liverpool in the early Saturday night game. With 9 rounds still to play in the 2-16-17 season, anything is still possible for these two teams, barring the title. Liverpool sit a hefty 13 points behind Chelsea at the top while Everton are 6 points further adrift. Everton have been a cash cow for us all year and given Liverpool’s current form there could be an opportunity to milk the Toffees once again here.

The Reds are coming off a 1-1 draw to Manchester City and have only won 3 of their last 10 games while Everton have one of the better recent records in the league with 7 wins from their last 10. However, the recent history between these two teams doesn’t bode as well for the Toffees. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 12 against Everton, but streaks are made to be broken and we think with the form of Everton and in particular their key man up front Romelu Lukaku, they could snatch at least a point here.

TIP: Everton (double chance) - $2.30 at bet365

Arsenal vs Manchester City (Monday 1am AEDT)

The game of the round sees Arsenal host Manchester City as the Gunners are fighting to regain a spot in the top 4. After losing their last 2 to Liverpool and West Brom, the Manchester City game comes at the worst possible time for Arsenal, who would need something special to make the top four with a loss this week. The Gunners have been fairly consistent at home, losing just 2 games at Emirates so far, this season.

Manchester City come into the game on the back of two draws against Stoke and Liverpool and will be hoping for a win here to cement their spot in the top four and begin to put pressur eon Tottenham and Chelsea at the top of the table. The recent history between the two teams will be against the Sky Blues, with Arsenal having lost just 1 of their previous 19 home games against them. Most of the clashes have been high scoring affairs, however, with an average of 3.86 goals over the two clubs last 7 meetings. We expect this one to be another high scoring affair.

TIP: Total Goals OVER 2.5 - $1.61 at Sportsbet

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (Sunday 1am AEDT)

Much like Sydney FC in the A-League, it’s hard to make a case against the Blues on any given week. Having lost just 3 games and drawn only another 3, Chelsea have 5 more wins than their closest rival in Tottenham and sit a whopping 10 points clear with 9 games to play. They host Crystal Palace this weekend, who have just won win at Stamford Bridge in the history of their club. The Blues consistency over the year has been outstanding, they have used the least players of any club with just 21 total.

Crystal Palace have won their last 3 to climb up the table and now sit 4 points clear of the relegation zone. Their negative 10 goal difference is easily the best of all the bad teams, but their ability to put goals on the board has been a bit of an issue. Crystal Palace has leaked the first goal in a game 19 times this year, second only to Sunderland while Chelsea have scored the first more than any other team, this could be a low scoring match given both teams defensive natures but we expect Chelsea to earn the W here.

TIP: Chelsea to win to nil - $1.83 at Sportsbet

Manchester United vs West Brom (Sunday, 1am AEDT)

West Brom have been one of the surprise packets of the 16-17 season and our prediction for them to beat Arsenal last week was one of our finer moments for the year. They’ll travel to Manchester to play the Red Devils this week in a game that could determine their chances of playing in the Europa league next year. They currently sit 7 points behind Everton in 7th place and we’ll need a win here to begin to bridge the gap.

The Red Devils come into the game unbeaten through their last 10 matches, with 6 wins and 4 draws. They currently sit 4 points adrift Liverpool in 4th spot and a Champions League berth after missing out for the last two seasons. West Brom have defeated Man U at Old Trafford twice in their clubs last three meetings but with Manchester’s current form we expect them to earn victory at home.

TIP: Manchester United -1 - $2 at Sportsbet
