We picked three more winners last week, bringing our win percentage to 75% for the 2017 NFL Playoffs. Now there’s only four teams that remain and they all possess a superstar quarterback. It will be a very exciting day of football so don’t miss our 2017 NFL Championship playoff betting tips.
NFL Championship Playoffs Betting Tips
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons (Monday 23rd January 7:05am)
The two hottest quarterbacks in the NFL will face off on Sunday night at the Georgia Dome. The Atlanta Falcons are currently 4.5 point favourites over the Green Bay Packers. With the total game score line set at 60.0.
That total may seem high for a playoff game, but these two quarterbacks are playing out of this world. Atlanta’s Matt Ryan tore through the Seattle (legion of boom) defense like they were a college team. He was almost perfect with 338 yards and three touchdowns, for a ridiculous 125.7 QB rating. Ryan shared the football around with eight different receivers as well as utilizing a very strong run game. It’s hard to falter this Atlanta offense. They will push the Packers defense to its limits.
If you missed the Green Bay vs Dallas game, then you missed the game of the year (so far). Once again Aaron Rodgers pulled a rabbit out of a hat. In the dying moments of the game Rodgers threw a 36-yard pass, through an impossible window to Jared Cook on the sideline. Cook had to drag his toes to stay in bounds and he somehow did. The Packers then kicked a 51-yard field goal as time expired.
It appears the week off hurt Dallas, as they were very slow to get going. Once the Dallas offense started firing at the end of the third quarter, the Green Bay defense looked a little over whelmed. I believe the Atlanta offense will also “over-whelm” the Packers.
Prediction: Green Bay 28 Atlanta 35
Tip: Atlanta Falcons at the line (-5.0) - $1.92 at Sportsbet
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots (Monday 23rd January 10:40am)
It’s the most exciting AFC Championship game we could have hoped-for. Pittsburgh vs New England. Big Ben vs Brady and two head coaches that are at the opposite end of the coaching spectrum. Both teams are riding a seven-game winning streak and are showing no signs of slowing down.
This will be a very different looking game compared to the last time these two teams played. It was only three months ago, but Pittsburgh were with Ben Roethlisberger and New England still had a healthy Rob Gronkowski. So, we can throw that game comparison out the window.
What makes this game so hard to predict is, not knowing how good the Patriots really are! They’ve had a very soft schedule against weak opponents, making them hard to gauge. In fact, the Patriots have only faced one elite quarterback all season, and they lost. However, they are favourites to win the super bowl for a reason. But you must ask the question, are they overrated?
Pittsburgh are hard to predict for different reasons. For all their offensive weapons, they always find ways to waste it. Head coach Mike Tomlin has that “go-for-it” attitude and it feels like they leave too many points on the field. Despite all the unknown’s it feels like 5.5 points is very generous for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even though I believe the Patriots will win, it shouldn’t be by more than a field goal.
Prediction: Pittsburgh 24 New England 27
Tip: Pittsburgh Steelers at the line (+5.5) - $1.92 at Sportsbet
