The 2016-17 EPL season continues this weekend and the match up between Chelsea and Liverpool will highlight this round. Continue reading for our EPL Week 5 Preview and Betting Tips.
Chelsea vs Liverpool (Saturday 5am AEST)
Liverpool’s rollercoaster season continued on the weekend, as they were able to pull off a huge victory against the defending champions. Leicester City aren’t as strong as they were last year but the Reds are looking like a threatening team up front. They have a lot of firepower and any defence will be worried when they are coming up against Liverpool. However, they still need to work out their back line and it was a costly mistake that led to the Foxes only goal.
Chelsea were lucky to escape with a draw against Swansea City. They fell behind early in the match and it took two strikes from Diego Costa to get them the one-point. The Blues were on the road but we expected more from them after three straight victories to start the season and facing Swansea. It was evident their defence does have weaknesses after all and there is a lot of improvement to be done.
The defensive deficiencies of Chelsea were be evident this weekend, as Liverpool we get the victory on the back of their strong attack.

Hull City vs Arsenal (Sunday 12am AEST)
The Gunners earned back-to-back victories to rejuvenate their 2016-17 EPL campaign on the weekend as they pulled off a miracle against Southampton. The side trailed early in the match and they left it until injury time to find the winner after Giroud was brought down in the box. The Gunners still aren’t playing their best football but they should be too strong for Hull City.
After starting the season undefeated over their first three games, Hull City’s latest performances haven’t left much to be desired. They created little chances against the Red Devils whilst they settled for a draw against Burnley on the road. We don’t expect them to push for a victory in this one but instead attempt to hold on for a draw – which will ultimately be their downfall.

Everton vs Middlesbrough (Sunday 2.30am AEST)
The Toffees have climbed into third position on the ladder and they look like a rejuvenated side under new manager Ronald K
The side created plenty of quality opportunities against Sunderland on the weekend and they eventually made it count on the scoreboard midway through the second half. Romelu Lukaku was able to break his drought for Everton and he grabbed another two within the space of 11-minutes to complete his hat-trick. He is one of the best, strongest and dangerous strikers in the world and will continue to have a lot of success as he is only 23-years-old.
Middlesbrough have just one win to their name in the opening four games but have managed to pick up two draws. Their loss on the weekend against Crystal Palace was disappointing, especially on home soil. The side’s first season back in the Premier League will continue to be challenging and they won’t be able to earn any competition points on the road against Everton.

Watford vs Manchester United (Sunday 9pm AEST)
Manchester United’s perfect season came to an end on the weekend as their arch rivals were able to get the advantage over them in the derby. It was the first loss of the season for the Red Devils and it would have hurt the side even more as it was on home soil. They started the match slowly and City were able to dominate the midfield and possession of the ball and it showed on the scoreboard. They were able to improve and grab a goal back but ultimately they didn’t do enough to deserve a competition point. However, we are expecting that to turn around this weekend.
Watford pulled off a huge upset last weekend as they earned a 4-2 victory on the road against West Ham. It is a big three points for a side that will be near the relegation zone at the end of the year and this could lead the side to be lack lustre this weekend. They can’t afford to come with any sort of complacency into this match.
