2016 PGA: FedEx St. Jude Classic
Where: TPC Southwind, Memphis, Tennessee
When: Thursday 9th June (9:00pm first tee)
Purse: $6,200,000
It feels like Déjà vu. Week after week we seem to be in the lead or right around the mark heading into the final day and our golfer develops final round jitters. Last week’s tip Matt Kuchar ($21) opened up the Memorial tournament with a couple of 66’s. He put himself right in contention but a final round of 73 saw Kuchar slip to 4th place. There is only two more weeks until the US Open but before that we have the St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis. Let’s take a look.
Last year’s winner Fabian Gomez was a roughie to say the least. He was around the 500-1 mark at some sportsbooks. With so many of the world’s top golfers taking a week off in preparation for the US Open. It seems like an opportunity for some of the fringe players to step up. With that in mind here are my tips for the 2016 FedEx St. Jude Classic.
Chad Campbell
Since missing the cut at the Wells Fargo Chad Campbell is starting to hit his straps. He finished T39 at The Players, T12 at the Byron Nelson and 10th at the Dean & Deluca. Where he closed with a final round 63. The Texas lad knows TPC Southwind very well and has finished top 10 in 2012 and 2015 (T3rd & T8th). Looks ready to take the next step.

Will Wilcox
I want to give the Alabama guy another shot. He had a bad start at the Dean & Deluca but bounced back with a second round 69. He has two Top 10’s this season in limited events. He has plenty of course experience and his results here are not too bad. Wilcox finished T19 in 2014 and even better in 2015 with a T12.
Tip: Will Wilcox to win outright - $67 at CrownBet
Matt Jones
Jones has missed the cut 10 out of 19 times this year. He missed four in a row until last week at the Memorial tournament. I believe this T20 at the Memorial will snap his form slump. Jones is 82nd in world rankings and has already shown he has the talent to win on the PGA tour. He finished 3rd here last year with four rounds of 69,67,68,68.
Tip: Matt Jones to win outright - $71 at CrownBet
Scott Brown
Another player who had struggled until last week’s Memorial tournament. Brown is having an up-and-down season. Currently sitting 77th in FedEx Cup standings with four Top 10’s so far this season. He has course knowledge here and seems to improve each year. Brown finished 39th in 2013 and T12th last year. Remember last year’s winner was 500-1.
Tip: Scott Brown to win outright - $81 at CrownBet
