Geelong will host midweek racing in Victoria this week and the young two-year-old maidens kick things off in the first of the day. Race one starts at 1pm AEST, and the track should remain Good despite a touch of rain in the area on Tuesday. She’s an ordinary meeting to be honest but there are still winners to be found. After picking 2 from 3 and returning a small profit at Mornington on Easter Saturday, we go again with 3 best bets on the day!

Geelong Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 23rd 2025
Race 3: Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers Maiden Plate - 2:10pm (AEST)
(6) Top Secret resumes here and usually displays early speed in his races. He hasn’t placed yet in his three starts to date but he has trialed up nicely for this and he has already been backed in a little which shows he is going well at the Waterhouse & Bott stable. He won a Flemington trial on May 14 and this maiden doesn’t look too hard.
(1) Alvin has placed 4 times on Dry ground and he battled on well for 2nd at Seymour last start after settling on speed. Should get a good run from barrier 5 for Teo Nugent.
(5) Storm Capital came 3rd after running on well at Pakenham last start and that race was stronger than this.
(6) Top Secret WIN
$3.00 (2 Units)
Race 5: Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden - 3:20pm (AEST)
(14) Dancing Dolly looks the goods here for Archie Alexander and his team. She looked good when running 3rd at Cranbourne after making late ground and we know it can be hard to make up ground at that track on occasions. Has run a 2nd when second up before and Harry Coffey will likely go back again and try the same tactics here. If the track is leaderish in the first few races, Coffey may take off earlier.
(13) Flash of Dallas is first up here and is having his first race for Dean Sutton. Won a trial 2 weeks ago at Caulfield Heath and comes over from WA with good credentials for this.
(1) Benriach is very fit now and usually picks up late ground steadily and may sneak a placing at big odds here.
(14) Dancing Dolly
$1.80 WIN (3 Units)
Race 8: Geelong Taxi Network Handicap - 5:05pm (AEST)
(6) Cat Noir is an each-way hope in this I reckon and his trainer Jamie Edwards does go well at his home track. The horse has won twice here and has won twice over this distance. After a freshen up he was on speed last time here and ran 5th but with that run under the belt, he will be fitter and should be finishing in the top 3.
(4) Viasain was poor at this track last start but go on his 4th at The Valley on February 21 where he ran very well.
(7) Curse It won over this distance and track last start and is a deserved favourite. Will settle midifield and is very fit and Logan Bates has won on the gelding before. Does go up 2 kg in weight but has drawn barrier 3 for the third time in a row which is a good get.
(6) Cat Noir Each-Way
$8.50/$2.60 (1 Unit)
