Match Preview
The Warriors opened their season in Las Vegas two weeks ago and have been hoping to make amends for their poor showing in their 30-8 defeat by the Raiders. Hoping for a new style, the Warriors were unable to combat their opponents play. They were their own worst enemy in running for fewer metres and missing 44 tackles; attitude areas have let them down previously.
The Sea Eagles were at the opposite end of the spectrum in their commanding 42-12 victory over the Cowboys. The only criticism you could find is that the scoreline wasn’t larger; keeping their opponents scoreless until the 72nd minute meant that 50-points was a chance. Having 11 line breaks highlighted their brilliance and it leaves fans wondering just how good they could be.
The form of each team last week has dramatically impacted the odds. As good as the Sea Eagles were, their opponents were woeful. While the same can be said of the Warriors, there is a growing thought that their opening round loss will kick this team into action. They have a strong home ground advantage too; while having a 62% record at the ground (Warriors 57%), the Sea Eagles last recorded a win in New Zealand over the Warriors back in Round 21, 2016. Naturally, most think they will extend their recent positive form over their opponents whereby they have won 4 of the past 6. Then again, this is the NRL, it is early in the season and teams are still finding their place.
Overall, the advice is to be wary of both teams. Rather than pick a winner (of which there is only a slight lean towards the Sea Eagles), invest on this game being a high scoring contest. The average points total in the past 5 matches between these two sides is 51 points. More of the same is expected if Round 1 of the competition is anything to go by.

Leg 1: Saab to score – He has scored 4 tries in the past 3 matches between these two sides. He was back to his best last week, scoring 1 try and setting up others.
Leg 2: Sea Eagles to score the first try – They make a habit of fast starts and will be keen to continue from last week. The Warriors still have a lot to prove defensively, and the Sea Eagles will be sure to capitalise on this with a positive start.
Leg 3: Garrick 8+ points – he is a high percentage goal kicker who is also an attacking threat. He crossed for 1 try last week, taking his tally up to 16 points for that match.
