Rosehill Gardens Racing Tips: Saturday, September 14th 2024
Race 6: Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes (GROUP 2) 1200m – 2:50pm (AEST)
(1) Belclare $17.00: NZ Mare who is debuting in Aus today and she must be respected of NZ form where she is a Group 1 winner and boasts a 30% win rate from 36 career starts. Two handy trials leading into this, so expect a bold run at odds.
(2) Sunshine In Paris $4.20: 5YO Mare who must be respected off her last prep where she was very good competing at Group 1 level. She was enormous in the G1 TJ Smith where she sat three wide at the rear and hit the line nicely to only finish less than a length behind the winner. That was on a heavy deck too. She resumes today back on the dry where she goes best, but sticks with 1200m which is her ideal range with 3 wins from 6 attempts. She looks a great bet here back competing at G2 level and with set weights. Draws a nice gate for a small field and expect her to be winning this if we see what we saw last prep.
(3) Joliestar $1.75: Talented 4YO Mare who is unbeaten over this trip and she was very impressive when resuming last start. This is tougher now, but very capable. Price too short for my liking.
(2) Sunshine In Paris
$4.20 (2 Units)
Race 8: James Squire Run To The Rose (GROUP 2) 1400m - 4:00pm (AEST)
(1) Traffic Warden $8.50/$2.20: 3YO Colt who resumes today and looks to be one of the value bets of the day. He gets in nicely at the weights here against the others and he has previously beaten STORM BOY. He was unlucky to not win the Inglis Sires where he was head bobbed out of it by MANAAL (Since franked Form). I expect him to get a tow into the race by STORM BOY here who is the main danger, but this fella deserves some merit of previous form against these here. Happy to have at odds.
(2) Storm Boy $2.00: Talented 3YO Colt who was very impressive on his return, but no disadvantage to be up on the speed that day. Main danger, but again maybe a fraction too short against the others here.
(3) Switzerland $7.50: Resuming colt who demands respect on early career success. Watch the market.
(1) Traffic Warden E/W
$8.50/$2.20 (0.5U/1.5U)
Race 9: Toyota Forklifts Theo Marks Stakes (GROUP 2) – 4:40pm (AEST)
(1) Celestial Legend $4.00: 4YO Grey who showed how talented he is last prep with three wins on the trot including two Group 1s which were both very impressive wins. He had no right to win the Doncaster but showed a brilliant TOF when he found clear running and ended up winning easily. Returns today tackling 1300m which is shorter than we’d like but comes in off two trials where he hasn’t been worked over too hard. If we see the same horse we saw last prep I have no doubt he will be picking these up today to score. Keen to watch him this spring.
(8) Punch Lane $7.50/$2.60: 5YO who has had a freshen up after winning two handy races on the heavy deck. Nice strike rate and will be a key runner again here. Goes well at odds.
(11) Molly Bloom $26.00/$6.00: Roughie of the field who is nicely weighted for this outing, but will need to improve off recent runs. Capable of a blow out here.
