Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday July 20th 2024
Race 4: James Squire BM72 1500m – 1:00pm AEST
(3) Until Valhalla - We were on this 3YO filly last start and she never got into the race after putting on a demolition job the run prior to win by 3L ahead of Emmadella who went on to win a good race after that. She remains at the 72 grade here and will only be fitter again. Draws wide, but expect her to jump well and get across to sit up on the speed, ideally in behind J-Mac on Pure Alpha who looks the main danger, but needs to lug 61kg on the heavy today. If our filly can get a tow in behind Pure Alpha and show that nice turn of foot that we saw two runs back she will be a big sniff here at an each way price. Nash Rawiller gets into the saddle which boosts confidence and he will be wanting to knock J-Mac off as they are up to their necks in this premiership battle.
(1) Pure Alpha - 3YO gelding who is yet to miss the quinella and is racing well. Expect him to lead with Mostro, but needs to lug 61.5kg today which is my only concern. J-Mac steers which boosts confidence, but will need another terrific effort to hold on.
(8) Mostro $8.50 - Another one who maps to lead and drops back in distance which looks ideal. Unbeaten on the soft and capable of another bold run at odds.
(3) Until Valhalla E/W
$8.00/$2.45 (1u/2u)
Race 6: Schweppes Hcp 1100m - 2:10pm AEST
(1) Sivka Burka: 4YO French Mare who makes her debut in Australia today. This will be her first up run since October 2023 where she came second in listed grade and has good form in group 3/listed level in France. Comes into this with two very handy trials at Wyong and Beaudesert on weather effected tracks. She looks as though she will be suited over further, but has place dover 1100m and came second at G3 level over 1200m. She gets in nicely here at the weights as a 96 rater with J-Mac to steer. I am happy with her two lead up trials and expect to see a bold showing for her debut in Aus.
(9) In Flight: 3YO filly who is eyeing off 4 in a row and must be respected with a terrific performance last Saturday. Loves the soft and this trip, so expecting plenty of supporters here.
(3) Iowna Merc: 4YO who was terrific first up and second up in open class here before being poor last start up in Queensland. Returns home now and expect her to bounce back. Goes well fourth up, on the wet and over this trip. Watch for her late.

Race 8: Toyota Forklifts Winter Challenge1500m – 3:25pm AEST
(8) Zoe’s Promise: 4YO mare who we thought was a sneaky chance last start in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara, but lost a plate and then pulled up out of the race. She gets back into a more suitable race here and maps nicely to ping to the front and dictate the race. Id like to think we will see something similar to her first up run this prep where she led them up and then put them all to the sword down the straight winning by almost 4L. She performs well on the weather effected tracks and is rock hard fit. Over the odds.
(1) Tamerlane $5.50: Terrific win last start, but he appears to be one I cannot catch. Maps well here to be up on the speed and is worthy of another crack off last starts win. Goes well.
(11) War Eternal $3.00: In form 5YO who deserves to be favourite off last starts strong finish. Rises in class now, but gets in light, so worthy again. Watch the market.
(8) Zoe's Promise E/W
$23.00/$5.00 (1 unit)
