Sacramento Kings at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 10:30am AEDT
The Kings recently finished their five-game homestand with a 3-2 record including wins in each of their last two. Their most recent performance was their best of the lot as they downed a full-strength Clippers outfit by 14 points. In contrast, the Knicks have lost their past three outings, one at home and two on the road. Their most recent loss was away against the Heat where they trailed by double digits for the majority of the contest (99-109). In lineup news, the Knicks continue to be without both Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, which puts a lot of pressure on star guard Jalen Brunson to carry the scoring load. For the Kings, they’re virtually fully health and will have no excuses when they take to the floor at the Garden. The Kings, despite being priced as the clear underdogs, are more than capable of winning this matchup on the road and are in superior form. They’re certainly worth having something on at the price in my opinion.

Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat
Kaseya Center, 10:30am AEDT
The 76ers welcomed back Joel Embiid in their recent win over the Thunder and the reigning MVP delivered with 24 points in just 29 minutes. He looked out on his feet on numerous occasions in the second half, and whether or not he takes to the floor on Friday remains to be seen. Embiid’s 76ers are now riding a two-game win streak which has kept them in touch with the top six in the East. Elsewhere, the Heat, who currently occupy sixth spot in the East, will be aiming to make it four wins on the spin when they take to the court on Friday. They proved to be far too good for the undermanned Knicks last start and have now won four of their last five games by double-figure margins. The Heat have also dominated this matchup in recent times, winning three of their last four meetings with the 76ers. And on their home deck with Embiid still underdone, I expect the Heat’s dominance to continue.

Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 1pm AEDT
The Nuggets finished their five-game homestand with a pair of wins at the backend. They most recently took care of the rebuilding Spurs in an entertaining battle between Jokic and Wembanyama. The Nuggets have now won 11 of their past 14 games and currently occupy the #2 seed in the West. Meanwhile, the Clippers were poor last start against the Kings whom they fell to by 14 points on the road. That wrapped up their four-game road trip, with the three prior games all resulting in wins against teams in the East. The Clippers are currently in fourth spot in the West but are in a spot where they can’t finish any higher and likely won’t fall any lower. In contrast, the Nuggets well and truly have their sights set on finishing top in the West and winning on Friday will go a long way to achieving that. I expect them to be playing with the higher intensity of the pair as a result, making them a solid bet at the moneyline.
