Wyong Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 20th 2024
Race 3: DLF Turf – Front Runners Cup BM78 2100m - 2:55pm (AEDT)
(5) Queenmaker $5.00 5YO mare who drops back in grade now and gets in nicely at the weights here. Last start took on open class and finished last, but only 5.5L off the winner who was LEKVARTE. Draws a handy gate today and has terrific form at WYONG. Expect him to be on pace/midfield where you historically want to be at WYONG with the rail out 3 or more metres. Looks a nice value bet and peaking over this trip third up.
(6) Piraeus $3.20 Early favourite who has been solid in the early market and is chasing that first win this prep. Has been going close and worth thought again here. Rock hard fit.
(5) Queenmaker
$5.00 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Floratine Turf Products BM78 1350m – 4:40pm (AEDT)
(6) Ebony King $4.00: 5YO gelding who has been terrific in both his last two outings and he ran out of distance to salute last start, but he was flying late with the 5th fastest last 200m for the meeting. Rises to 1350m now which looks ideal off that run and gets 2kg off his back, but up in class. Nash to steer boosts confidence.
(1) Starman $3.80: The favourite who has been going great guns and was solid last start at Randwick in metro Saturday grade. Back to midweek now and J-Mac still in saddle. Draws a nice gate and he should slot in midfield allowing for that nice TOF late. Worth thought again.
(6) Ebony King
$4.00 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Turfcare Australia BM78 1000m–5:15pm (AEDT)
(4) Fire Lane $9.00/$2.70: 3YO filly who resumes today and gets back to the right grade. Finished off last prep racing at group level and was far from disgraced. Comes into this off two handy trials and is proven first up. Gets in nicely at the weights with a 3kg claim engaged and draws the perfect gate to allow her to roll out into a nice spot just off the pace which is where you want to be at WYONG. Looks a great each way bet over this distance first up.
(5) Stanislaus $3.50: 3YO gelding who has shown good ability previously. Must be respected coming out of the cummings stable with J-Mac to steer. Proven first up and has trialled well coming into this. Worth thought.
(4) Fire Lane E/W
$9.00/$2.70 (1 Unit)
