BBL13 Scorchers vs Strikers Betting Tips
Optus Stadium, Wednesday 3rd January, 9.15pm (AEDT)
Scorchers
The Scorchers remain undefeated in the BBL13 season but find themselves in 3rd place on the table with three wins and one non result through their four fixtures. Their last game came in Perth against the Melbourne Renegades on Boxing Day. Batting first, the Scorchers posted 162 on the back of 50s from Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis. That proved to be enough as they kept the Gades to 149/8, with Andrew Tye being the pick of the bowlers with 2/21 off four overs.
The Scorchers shouldn't have much squad movement to assess leading into the match, as they aren't slated to get any international players back and outside of Ashton Turner, who has already been ruled out for the season, there are no injury concerns.
Scorchers Predicted XI: Zak Crawley, Cooper Connolly, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Laurie Evans, Nick Hobson, Ashton Agar, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Lance Morris
Adelaide Strikers
The Strikers got their season off to a solid start winning their first completed game against the Thunder, however, they have gone on to lose three in a row and now find themselves in 6th place on the table. They were solid with the bat against the Stars in their last game, posting 205 in the first innings, but couldn't get the job done with the ball as Melbourne chased down the total with six ball to spare.
After the loss of Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan and with Henry Thornton out of the side at the moment, the Strikers bowling unit leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. Wes Agar can't seem to recapture the form that saw him finish near the top of the wicket takers leaderboard a few years ago.
Strikers Predicted XI: Matt Short, D'Arcy Short, Chris Lynn, Adam Hose, Jamie Overton, Harry Nielsen, Ben Manenti, James Bazely, Wes Agar, Brendan Doggett, Cameron Boyce
Betting Tips
There's a betting strategy in the Big Bash League that has been extremely fruitful for me over the past few seasons - when the Scorchers are playing at home, bet them. They are 2-0 at home this season and since the start of the 20-21 season, they are an incredible 15-1 at Perth Stadium. Not rocket science here.
Same Game Multi
Jason Behrendorff has been the standout bowler for the Scorchers this season, taking seven wicket sin just three games. Took 4/25 in the Scorchers win over the Hurricanes at home on the 20th of December. Like him to take 2+ here.
Aaron Hardie has been in elite form at No.3 for the Scorchers this season, surpassing 20 runs in all four of his innings and piling on 85 and 57 in his last two knocks at Perth Stadium. Back another 20+ performance here.
Jason Behrendorff 2+ Wickets
Aaron Hardie 20+ Runs
