Cleveland Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors
Scotiabank Arena, 11:40am AEDT
An interesting clash on Tuesday will see the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors come together. The Cavaliers lost last time out against the Bucks but have been in good form recently for the most part, winning five of their last seven games including each of their last two on the road. Meanwhile, the Raptors did the unthinkable last outing where they lost to the Pistons who were on a record-breaking 28-game losing streak. The Raptors have lost five of their last six games and recently shipped away key player OG Anunoby for former Knicks wing RJ Barrett. You get the sense that the Raptors are now in full rebuild mode and will likely make a couple more big trades in the coming weeks. This will make it tough for their key players to remain motivated, particularly when they take on the better teams in the Association. With that in mind, I’m keen to take the Cavaliers to win this one.

Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks
Fiserv Forum, 12:10pm AEDT
Another juicy matchup on Tuesday will be the Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks. There was plenty of drama last time these clubs played and that should add some extra spice to this one. The Pacers are riding a three-game win streak including two in a row on the road, seeing them return to form after going through a stretch where they lost six of seven. Talking of form, the Bucks are absolutely flying at the minute and have won nine of their last 10 games. Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped a career-high 64 points on 20-28 shooting the last time they met the Pacers and after initially being denied the game ball for that performance, I suspect he will come out firing again on Tuesday. The Pacers clearly don’t have a good enough matchup for the Greek Freak and I expect him to lead his side to yet another strong home victory.
Milwaukee Bucks -7.5

Miami Heat at Los Angeles Clippers
Crypto.com Arena, 2:40pm AEDT
The final game of the New Year’s Day (USA time) slate will see the Miami Heat travel to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers. The Heat will be without Jimmy Butler for this one and potentially even more key players as they currently have four guys listed as questionable to play. The Heat lost their most recent outing against the struggling Jazz, which snapped an impressive four-game win streak with two of those coming on the road. In contrast, the Clippers were dominant winners last start against the Grizzlies, making it 11 wins from their last 13 games. They’ve been firing on all cylinders of late, particularly on the offensive end which is to be expected considering the immense firepower they possess. At home and against the Butler-less Heat, I expect the Clippers to continue their strong form.
Los Angeles Clippers -6.5
