Tasmania JackJumpers vs Sydney Kings
Sunday 2pm AEDT, December 17th, MyState Bank Arena
Despite leading by nearly 20 points at different stages against the Wildcats on Friday night, the Tasmania JackJumpers couldn’t secure what would’ve been a valuable road win. The JackJumpers had the chance to pinch the win late, but their final possession was far from ideal.
Still, there were more encouraging signs for the JackJumpers in the loss, with Will Magnay putting in another big shift. His return to the court and return to high level form is a big part of the reason why the JackJumpers have managed to win five of their last seven games.
In contrast, the Sydney Kings are in their worst form for the season having lost three of their last four games. Their most recent loss against a heavily undermanned Phoenix outfit was by far their worst to date and has led to part owner Andrew Bogut asking for change.
Alarmingly, the Kings have conceded 104+ points in each of their last three losses. They’ve also now conceded over 100 points on six different occasions this season which is the worst mark in the competition. Clearly, the Kings need to switch things up on the defensive end and perhaps tweak their usual rotations.
Match prediction: These clubs have already met twice in NBL24, once in Tasmania and once in Sydney, and the JackJumpers came away victorious on both occasions by an average margin of nine points.
The JackJumpers have only gotten better since they last met and the Kings have been on the decline. Couple that with home court advantage on Sunday and the JackJumpers clearly look to be the pick in the H2H market.
